Moebius Lonestar notes

Recommended Posts

There are two areas of the Lonestar that seem to be causing some confusion.

#1 The eight mold tabs along the bottom edge of the cab - those shuould be removed - they are not locators just tabs left from the injection process. I intend to instruct our factory to remove these before packing parts in next production run!

#2 Window installation: the windows are all designed to fit into the cab from the inside! Will include added instructio notes to make this clear on the next production run of kits

Thanks,

Dave

55 C300 current schedule says shipping from factory 8/30/11.. I haven't got a second test shot yet so consider that date to be written in pencil and subject to some slippage...

The second batch of Hudson test shots are on the way to me now... hopefully everything has been revised and we can get it into production in the next few weeks..If all goes well that kit ought to ship around middle of July from factory....

Stay tuned...........

and for Europe and France is for when ????????????????

Many modellers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the model in Europe, hoping that this is done quickly enough !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:blink::P :P :( :(

Don't know what the modus operandi of Moebius is, but do hope that European distributors, after placing their orders with Moebius in the US, can have the merchandise shipped directly from China, otherwise I fear we're in for a big sticker shock.

Lets keep our fingers crossed

YEEEEEEESSSSSS! Please, someone make a 53 foot Utility or Great Dane 3 axle box or reefer trailer, a same length Manac flatbed or spread axle step deck, oh man, a tri-axle fuel tanker with a lift axle! Any one or all of them!

Face it, 40 foot Fruehauf won't look as cool behind that fabulous Lonestar...

A Nice new Prostar would be pretty cool too!

Alright now, breathe in, breathe out... I'm ok!

Im leaning more toward a diamond heavy haul trailer  Good luck finding space for something like that on a shelf!

Let me tell you something. If think those Diamond Dual Lane haulers look big in pics try being right next to one. I ran a service call for Diamond Heavy Haul over a year ago. When the driver called the shop he gave the location they were at and said " LOOK FOR THE LITTLE RED WAGON" One of the hubs dried up and the bearings burnt up on the 16th axle curb side postion. Working on that in 5PM rush hour traffic at the top of the I-270and 23 north ramp draws one hell of a spectical. If you've drivenin this traffic here in Columbus,Ohio you know what I'm talking about. One of the pilot car drivers told me (to be exact a chevy dually) it's always a rolling circus. Everyone's gotta look at the big truck. LOL

And how about "PayStar 5900 SFA", "WorkStar" or "9900"? They Look so brutal and first couple could be damp or mixer for diversity. Thank you, David. We are looking forward for the news.

Hi, I've received in Spain the Lonestar kit already on 14th May: it means, in Europe the Lonestar builds have already started!!

If you want to buy it directly in an European shop, in the internet web modell4you it will be available in the short term (it seems start of june).

Jaume

Dave, I would also like to thank you and everyone who made this kit possible!! That could not have been easy. I'm not going to jump in here with my suggestions of what should be next, but after buying and seeing this one up close, no matter what is next from you guys, it will find it's way to my bench!! B)

Thanks Again,

Rick

Interesting ideas for sure, but from the tooling "bang-for-the-Buck" point of view, the ProStar is the true no-brainer. They would need to change out maybe 2 dozen parts (new hood, grille and side skirts being the most obvious, no side pipes, and less over-all bling) and it would be come the truck modeling equivalent of a NASCAR "blank" kit. Almost every single major trucking firm in the U.S. has at least some of (if not entire fleets of) the ProStars. In addition to the one I'm sitting in at this moment for Celadon Trucking Services...Schneider, J.B. Hunt, Werner, SWIFT, Central Refrigerated Trucking, PRIME, Heartland Express, Knight, C. R. England, Con-Way Truckload (the old CFI), and the Wal*Mart Corporate Fleet all have them.

If this kit is a sucess.... and pardon me if I'm mistaken, it already is... I'd me more suprised if Moebius did NOT offer a few Binder kit spin-offs. I'd love to see them kit a first-gen Scout, or if we all promise to be really good, the MaxxForce concept '39 Hot Rod (stock or show truck, please)! But the bigger Internationals you mentioned? I WOULD buy at least a couple of each. What about a CXT? The heavy truck/tractor kits have been riding a tidal wave of renewed interest the last couple of years, I think a few of the long-wanted truck kits we've been wanting for years might be getting closer to reality.

Dave just a thought....

Maybe also post this info on the Moebius website, so people who do not surf the modeling board also have access to that info, print it and put it inside their kit for future reference...
