Chopped & Channelled 32 Ford Sedan

After a 6 month layoff I've rediscovered my modelling mojo and made a start on something !.

Going to be similar in style to the 32 3 window from last year & as you can see it's just mocked up withtape holding everything together at the moment to get some idea of how it will look -sorry for the poor night time pic.

So far I've chopped the top, Z'd the frame front & rear & cut down the interior panels accordingly.

The 37 grille, stock firewall & tyres are all from Replicas & Minatures and the steelies are resin ones of unknown origin from the spares box. Haven't made a final choice on colour as yet as still a long way to go but thought about flat black with red steelies & grille insert - I know it's an overused combination but think it would work.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments guys - I've given it a quick coat of primer and mocked up the engine - it's the kit supplied flathead with the heads, carb intake & air cleaner from the Replicas & Minatures Eddie Mayer hop up kit - the pulleys & generator are also from R&M & the Carbs are from the Model Car Garage.

Still lots to do but I'll post more progress as I make it.

Looking radically good! The engines mods are super. Aren't those MCG 97's the bomb? I'm tackling some right now. You might want to share with us your experiences on hooking up the p/e linkages. The ban on profanity on the MCM board precludes me from doing the same*... but they sure are pretty carburetors none the less.

*The instructions say the carburetors come pre-drilled, but in my case (I ordered three sets) it ain't true.

Thanks for the comments guys - haven't made a great deal of progress but here's a couple of shots of the frame on it's own - I'll be able to reduce the height of the rear if necessary by cutting down the air bags on the axle :

and just a couple of the "cut down" interior :

Just a quick update on a few "bits & pieces"

Front axle : A bit of a mixture of parts - I've used the brake backing plates from the Revell T bucket together with the inner rims (yellow plastic) from the AMT 36 ford. The rims have been sprayed Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red.

Rear Axle: Due to the chanelling I've had to extend the width of the axle with plastic sprue (the stock axle pictured for comparison) and again the brake backing plates are from the T bucket kit together with inner rims from the AMT 40 Ford kit (white plastic).

Wheels & Grill: Just a pic of the completed grill - the chrome strip is BMF and I've added a thin wash of matt black enamel between the grill bars. The trim rings & hubcaps are from the T bucket kit.

Engine:

I've added the carbs & aircleaner & used the MCG Stromberg p/e detail kit for the carb & throttle lingages - not entirely happy with the results (my eyesights not what it used to be!) but it saves the carbs from looking too "bare".

Thanks for looking
