San_Miguel
So I'm working on 2 Ferrari 599 GTO's. The second one will be Tamiya Met Green TS20 with a Flat Black roof and wheels. The question is... Should i paint the whole car green and clear coat it, then paint and paint the F Black roof over the clear? Or should i not clear coat the roof and do lots of taping and painting in separate stages? Cheers, Chris
Greg Myers
Using " Ferrari " in your title may help.
Chief Joseph
Who is going to see "599 GTO" and think Pontiac? Chris, I would paint the green & clear, then lightly scuff the roof, mask it off, and paint the flat black. I'd go very easy when applying the black so it stays very thin and doesn't build up against the masking. I believe you'd risk getting a ragged-looking edge between the green & black if you do it the other way you mentioned. edited for grammar Edited May 10, 2013 by Chief Joseph
