  1. Love this build! One of my absolute favorite cars!
  2. Building the ‘73 Petty Charger and was looking for info on Hemi engine colors? Was the block dark blue or light blue? Were the heads the same color? I assume the valve covers were flat black? What about headers? White or natural steel? Any under-hood pics for engine bay plumbing/wiring? Any other tips appreciated.
  3. Fantastic build! Don’t know which is more impressive, the model building or the photography?!?
  4. Mark, I’d love to see what you’ve come up with for the body-to-chassis problem. I totally agree that I’d like to be able to see all of my work that’s buried in there!
  5. Found these paper clips and cut the vinyl coating off in little sections to make plug boots and coil pack boots
  6. That’s a great tip! I may have to give that a try.
  7. Got a little work done on the engine. Wired up the coil packs and plug wires. Cut black insulation off paper clip for boots. Worked well.
  8. So I was excited to receive the Salvino’s Petty 1973 Charger kit. When I opened it, I noticed that is did not include the decals for the STP red parts of the body. I saw I can buy the decals and was wondering if this is a better route than masking and painting it? Do the decals lay down well? I don’t want to use the vinyl stickers because I think they won’t look right. Any tips or expedite with this issue appreciated. Thanks, Jed
  9. I was able to attend my first model car show and I was really impressed by the quality and diversity of the talent on display. The host club, ACME, did a great job with the event. Really enjoyed meeting Clay Kemp and Jay Savarese as I’m a big NASCAR fan.
  10. Does anyone have any recent reference pics of Cup engines? I’m building a Salvino’s Next Gen and would like some engine pics for painting and wiring. Specifically, what color are Chevy oil pans? What is the current Hendrick valve cover logo? What do the headers look like; are they wrapped or bare metal? Any help appreciated.
  11. Been tinkering with one of the new JR Salvino’s Next Gen Camaro. I’ll try to post more pics as I have them. Just getting started messing around with my first decent airbrush, a Badger 155. Tried my hand at heat-stained headers and didn’t turn out terrible for my first attempt. Ordered the Power Slide Engine Goodies decals from Mikes.
  12. Love your build and really interested as I’m working on one of my own Salvino’s Camaros right now too. I’d like to know how you built your dash, particularly the switches! Any other info on the detailing you did (hoses, wires, etc) would be appreciated. Thanks, Jed
  13. Following this thread as I’m building the NAPA #9 right now
  14. Thank you! I used the Tamiya Insignia White and it turned out great! Wasn’t sure if it would be grey enough but looks spot on!
