landman
Would it be easier to cut the bell housing off the resin trans instead of the finished engine? You could cut it off with a razor saw, cutting a bit into the housing, then sanding it down towards the trans.
landman
I see it didn't print my comment on the quote again. Tom, that is likely what I will do. Joe , if I come down right after Christmas and start on your garage, I should miss part of the winter!!!!
landman
I have several of the goodies for his garage assembled and painted. I realize they aren't toys and that he'll likely lose them before too long but I couldn't bring myself to give him just the building. landman
Had a bit of time tonight. Took the lazy way to separate the C-4 from its bell housing and mounted it to the one on the engine. Painted the resin BFG tires, the wheel centers, sanded the letters and assembled the wheels. Â Also painted an assortment of small chassis parts. Edited December 11, 2020 by landman
landman
Tried to remove the second picture of the transmission and replace it with that of the wheels but couldn't. So here it is:

landman
I present you the sorriest looking sparkplug wiring job on this forum. Mind you, it is my first. Maybe I'll get the hang of it. With all the fumbling about with the wires, the transmission fell off. When I had looked at the picture of the 27th, I felt I should have left more of a flange, so I made one before reattaching the transmission. Anyone know where the notched stripe decals at the bottom right go on the car? Edited December 11, 2020 by landman
landman
A few chassis shots. Turns out the fastback rear quarters look a lot like the convertibles. I'll go get a few photos of the real ones to compare. It may be easier this way. While playing with the body I noticed that one of the shock towers is not fully defined. How do I carve this out? Rotary tool? Edited December 11, 2020 by landman
mustang1989
My thoughts go to a razor saw possibly. Is the first pic of the towers what it's supposed to look like?

landman
This quote thing doesn't work for me. Yes the first pic shows a correct shock tower.
freakshow12
Coming along nicely. I noticed the front brakes are on wrong. The calipers should be on the upper rear picture this. If the spindle top is 12 o clock the calipers should be at the 1 o clock position

mustang1989
Pat I must have been a little tired before I went to bed because I didn't see the major difference there at first. At this point I would see myself as having two options. 1) Cut out the good spring tower area and cast a duplicate one in resin, then cut out the other side as close to the shape of your good side and glue in your resin copy. Then re-adhere your good side back in or 2) Try my luck (and this depends on how far along you are with the car body) with contacting the manufacturer of the resin body about getting a replacement body. You could "let it slide" which is a hard pill to swallow and depends on the time frame in which you want this done and the money involved.
