brodie_83
I just got my order from Modelhaus a few days ago and thought I'd share my initial thoughts on what I received. First of all, I ordered the complete '72-80 6' short box conversion kit, which includes the box, tailgate, chrome taillight housings and red taillight lenses. Everything is crisp in detail and the body lines line up perfectly to the LRE's body. I will, however, shave the raised mouldings off of it, along with the raised lettering. I have never worked with resin before so I will have to read up on how to clean, glue and paint it properly. I guess that is my review. I am very pleased with the mold-quality of the parts...they look fantastic and definitely worth the money!
disabled modeler
That looks sweet...nice project!
Luc Janssens
Hmm...the overhang behind the RR wheel-well looks long compared to whats in front of it, dunno if it's correct or not just odd...
Fabrux
I think you might be right, Luc. Looks like they just cut the 18" from in front of the wheel well and didn't cut the 6" behind it.
mchalal
here is the one I am working on "backdating" it to a 75, sort of at a standstill as I would like to find a bench seat interior for it, but so far no luck.. I am thinking butterscotch for the paint, not totally correct, but I am sure it will look good. I smoothed the body and bed down Edited December 28, 2013 by Mattyc
mikemodeler
It does match up to the wheelbase on the LRE chassis, will have to compare it to the kit stepside bed to see how it looks as well as a long bed that I have laying around. RodneyBad
Heres the one I made by measuring my 1:1(20yrs ago) compared to Modelhaus Looks pretty good to me. Maybe mine might be off by a Smidgent
Ron Hamilton
I remember building the original Dodge pickup with the 8' Bed, and those huge tires. Your build is looking good so far. I like where it is going. If you are going with a set of Dog Dish Caps, Missing Link Resins has the ones you need. I added the trim rings, which I cut from a set of Dodge Rallye Wheels.
