Old Sprinter
With the help of Red Bull and my Ipod playing AC/DC, Bachman Turner Overdrive and the Stones I started the frame today for this newest adventure in modeling, an AJ Watson Indy Roadster. I love these cars and can't believe I'm finally building one in 1/8 scale. This thing will be Offy powered and as close to the picture as I can can get. Old Sprinter
Thanks, Dave, I guess I could have a Sprint Car Museum. Here's what I have got done so far. The body buck is made out of 1/8" foam and is being covered with poster board, then fiberglass. When it's complete, all this will be removed and thrown away. Draggon
Amazing work Ken. It would be awesome in 1/25, but in 1/8 theres no room for errors, and you nailed it. You keep surprising me with your scratchbuilding skills
Old Sprinter
Thanks to all of you. I'm closing in on finishing the body. Got the glass laid up and now I'm going to cut out the body panels and hinge the hood with a small piano hinge. I still have some filling and sanding to do. I also made one wheel and tire with styrene. The wheel is a 1 1/4' conduit coupler with a styrene center. center. Old Sprinter
I have had to red flag the Indy car project so I could crank out a couple of sprint cars before Christmas. Here's one I'm building. It will be the Maxim Chassis car of Brady Short.
