randx0
I have a question in regards to corvettes that were drag raced in the mid to late 60's. did they keep the independent rear suspension or was it common to switch over to a solid rear axle? I guess I just haven't seen a bunch of under carriage pictures but it seems that maybe a solid rear axles would be a logical upgrade for going straight but then maybe it was easier to work on what came from the factory. Drag experts please enlighten me . Edited September 25, 2011 by randx0
MicroNitro
Most did switch to solid rear axles. I do remember going to a friend of my dads back then and he was remaking a Vette rear end. He had put a Dana 60 center section and super big half shafts in it but it was still independent. I was only about 12 so I do not remember if it was to keep in the rules or why he went to so much trouble.
randx0
Thanks Jim that is exactly the stuff I was curious about I figure there was a few ways to skin this cat . Dave thank you as well,I mostly am curious about the golden age because those guys were so crafty. And I do like that 4 link in the corvette it is pretty decent .
