Dr. Cranky
Thanks, now the task at hand is to start the rusting/weathering painting. Stay tuned in, you CRANKYHEADS.
Alan
Not sure if hanging an 80 lb. crankshaft on the front end is such a good plan, camshafts I have seen ........
LoneWolf15
Not sure if hanging an 80 lb. crankshaft on the front end is such a good plan, camshafts I have seen ........ It helps keep the front wheels on the pavement ! Virgil is known to have a lead foot and a tendency to dump the clutch in first gear ! Dr. Cranky
Lead foot, that'a bout right. LOL. Sometimes a video is worth a thousand words, and perhaps this will explain where I'm sort of going with this build:
The Styrene Chemist
nice, great layout. Nice video by the way too

Dr. Cranky
The crank shaft is from the Blue Printers parts pack, and I thought it came in a smaller version too, but I guess not.
Jantrix
Lol, if he's complaining about the crank shaft he obviously hasn't seen the dragon winged build.Or the scorpion tailed sedan.
Dr. Cranky
Ah, Rob, you remember those, eh? LOL!

LoneWolf15
Lol, if he's complaining about the crank shaft he obviously hasn't seen the dragon winged build. Or the scorpion tailed sedan. And to top it off , Rob , he has the audacity to accuse me of not being right upstairs ? Lol !
James2
And with that, I say the good Doctor has officially CRANKED it up a notch!
Dr. Cranky
Thanks, everyone, for staying tuned in. Well, the fun continues . . . Getting the main components painted using a combination of techniques. Once you have a clear vision of where a model is headed the best you can do is chase after your imagination. Dr. Cranky
A worn of warning about this kit. Do not assemble and glue the interior tub outside of the body. The kit parts are set up so that they literally snap into place, then you can glue in the seats and the dashboard. It's beginning to look like something: It's amazing how far a simple wash can take your wheels in particular to help knock off that freshly-painting look:
Dr. Cranky
To the untrained eye the model looks painted in black, but far from it. It's got over a dozen colors in it, and in person you'd see all the different tones and hues. Overkill? Perhaps, but I've started a new diet called getting-up-to-clean-the-airbrush and I think it's going to hel me shed some pounds. LOL. It's coming along, Billy, it's coming along: Edited January 29, 2013 by Dr. Cranky
Dr. Cranky
Frame shot: Stay tuned in for more progress. Thank you.
shucky
Doctor, loving the frame which appears rusted through primer some lost soul may have applied long ago. May I ask which / what type of wash you used on the wheels? Loving what your doing so far and tuned in for more.
Dr. Cranky
Mike, thanks for the kind words. The wash is from VALLEJO, although the AK-INTERACTIVE wash is also excellent. They both work very well.

Dr. Cranky
looking good doc how low are u goin with this build ? Steven, I'm going with the stock suspension and ride hight that comes with the kit. The next one I might do some frame modifications to and lower all the way to the weeds. Thanks, Richard. The sun is out! Off to paint some more parts.
