old-hermit
I've been working on this for a while now and just got it finished. It's a 1/8 scale scratch built prototype of a Chevy inline six. I've wanted one since I got into big scale and since it didn't exist I made one.

Junkman
This is amazing! Do you guys trade your soul to the devil for your abilties?
old-hermit
This is amazing! Do you guys trade your soul to the devil for your abilties? Wrong direction Junkman. Ya gotta look up for inspiration. It's kinda like the old joke about the stone carvers elephant, "I just take a big block of stone and remove everything that doesn't look like an elephant". old-hermit
Got a little side tracked and started an old timey short rail. Using the Lindy Exterminator kit as a starting point. I shortened the frame 4.5 inches and mocked it up with the six. I'll post a new thread when I get a little further along. Frame is done with new motor mounts for the six. Uncle Mike
that is BAD!!!! Heck, Herm! I was waiting for the scratchbuilt '38 Chevy Coupe! Love that 'shortshot' rail! I had a 1:1 built from some 3" conduit, an old flathead digger...gave it to my partner, built a 122" for that flatmotor...with 4130 tubing this time! My Bonneville oartner and I were putting on some weight, and had to Porta-Power stretch the width of the cockpit rollcage 3" to fit us! Models can be as thin as when we were young...we don't have to 'put them on'! Nice "Stovebolt"!!!
