Beerman86GT
Like I really need to start ANOTHER project before finishing the others I have going! Anyway, the first one here is the '64 Thunderbolt kit. i built this when I was a sophomore in highscool. (1991?) Over time I robbed parts off of it and paint faded and chrome peeled. Seeing the "Pheonix" come back to life got me to thinking. Going to try and do a pro touring type car with this and use my Strada Sports BBS wheels on her!!!!! Just a quick mock up, I picked up another kit to replace the chrome and missing parts as well!!! The next one is going to be a challenge for me, but this is a sentimental car to me. This belonged to my Dad, he passed away in 1998. He gave me this car when I was a little kid, it wasn't finished but it was painted and needless to say I was not kind to it! Not sure of the brand of it but I know it was from the '70's and was a Boss 302 kit I believe. Anyways, this is all I have left of it now. Been letting it soak in Easy Off for a few days, it's going slowly and I have found that the Street Burner Shelby GT500 kit is pretty close so that is what I will be using for the chassis. Going to try and make this one "functional" and not just cram the wheels and tires up in there for the "curbside model" effect! If anyone has any info or parts please let me know, I will defintely need bumpers, grille and a hood. Thanks! Got the chassis kinda sorted out, going to have to narrow the rear just a tad! Also got some new wheels coming!!!! Comments and suggestions ALWAYS welcome, thanks!!!!
Guest
John, the '70 Boss 302 kit is still around,so there's all of the parts you will need. I have one that I would trade to another kit if you would want.

Hedgehog
Very cool proyects, I'm keeping my eyes open for this proyect. Wonder what kind of wheels and tires you used in your Boss 302??? Ace-Garageguy
Great projects. Naturally I also love to see old models restored and reworked, especially when they have some particular sentimental value to the builder. I like your ideas for both of them, especially the BBS wheels on the T-bolt.

iBorg
I'm pretty sure the Mustang is from AMT. I'm not sure when it was last re-issued. I remember building one. I would like to resurrect it also. Mike

Abell82
Being that the 70 is missing both quarter window pillars and it's apparent age, I would think that it is the hard to find 1/25th scale MPC Boss 302 body. Not the more common Monogram 1/24th scale one. But I could be wrong.

Not the more common Monogram 1/24th scale one. But I could be wrong. I remember seeing a couple on e-Bay last year sometime, and the boxes on the listings matched the box that it was in when my father gave it to me, I believe you are correct. Those things had some hefty price tags on them! The chassis I am using is from a 1/24 kit and that would make sense as well. I had to do some modifications to get the body to sit down on there. Plus with the interior tub out of that kit, it sticks out of the bottom of the body.So it makes sense that you are correct on the scale as well sir! It all makes sense now! Thanks!!! Beerman86GT
Sorry for the long delay on updates guys!! I promise I have been working on these two. The mustang has had three baths in Easy Off and is finally where I can see exactly what I've got. The T-Bolt's suspension is just about dialed in as well. Sorry I do not have any pics of the progress to post up. I did however find some old parts boxes in my attic and they were hiding some pretty interesting surprises!!! I found the interior tub for the mustang along with the chassis and grill and lower valance! I also found a Testers Boyds Alumacoupe that I had done when I was a teenager! It was missing all suspension, wheels, tires and all of the glass except for the windshield. A quick search on e-Bay and I had a "not so pretty" donor kit on the way. Someone had glued the body together and quit, so all of the pieces I needed were still on the parts trees!!! I gave her a little polish and installed the new parts and here she is!!!!!! and another shot next to the Matt Hay T-Bird project! Also found this little guy, Pro touring Pinto maybe????? Thanks for looking and as always comments are welcome!!!! I'll put some more shots of the Alumacoupe in the "Underglass" section.
