Corvette C5-R rims on a Shelby

Recommended Posts

I don't know the bolt patterns or offsets on the real cars without doing more research than I have time for, but if your question is whether-or-not it could work in full-scale, it COULD.

The C5-Rs I'm familiar with use a true racing wheel with one big center nut to retain it on the hub. There's no reason why a competent engineer / fabricator / machinist couldn't design and machine something to allow the C5-R wheels to be used on the Mustang. It wouldn't be cheap, but it's possible (though it COULD require fabricating custom suspension uprights, etc. to get it all to work).

For a model, it's entirely plausible.

Probably...IIRC, the C5-R kit wheels are pretty small in diameter compared to the Shelby kit wheels, though. I've looked at building a Trans Am series style race car from the Revell '10 Camaro using C6-R wheels and tires, chassis parts, etc and the race car wheels look so tiny w/ the stock bodywork...
