ismaelg
Hello, I've been very busy lately so no modeling time in over 2 weeks. Not even much online time. My friend Felice sent me these pictures of his 250 TR in progress. Since aftermarket stuff is hard to find (and expensive) in Venezuela everything is either from the kit or scratchbuilt. Between this and Luis Ayala's (papin67) Corvette I'm retiring to build Legos now.
MrObsessive
Well I'm flattered!! Thanks Izzy! I'd love to meet him in person someday Ismael.............his work is outstanding! I'd like to know what brand/shade of red he's using for the body. That's about perfect for the shade of red Ferrari was using in the '50's. novadose71
Absolutely beautiful and correct build, the underhood hoses look very nice. I've worked on a few 1:1 250TR's, and this one looks like it's about ready for Pebble Beach.................please post finished pics, thanks Edited June 18, 2008 by novadose71

Zoom Zoom
Incredible work there! I've already built the kit totally OOB; seeing the detail is very inspiring! Doubt I'll go that far when I do my second kit as the #22 Lucybelle in white/blue stripes.

ismaelg
Felice sent me more progress pictures. These fully functional working scratchbuilt buckles are for the hood. I love the 2 smaller lines coming out of the main hose. What's this? Fuse panel! Yes, I have already insulted him on behalf of all of us and told him we all hate him Thanks,
JHDrew
Yes, I have already insulted him on behalf of all of us and told him we all hate him Thanks, You can hate him all you want I want to adopt him. His is a man after my own heart for detail. I just love his use of shading to bring out the details. Keep these pictures coming Izzy! I'm officially inspired again. crispy
When this kit hit the market I decided to pass on it. Just wasn't for me. Then we start seeing builds of it and I start liking what I saw. All of a sudden we get a build nothing short of awesome and it makes me want one. Anytime a builder can inspire and make another person want one, well, then they did the ultimate work and helped a company sell another kit. What beautiful work. Very inspiring indeed. Zoom Zoom
Ismael, it's looking fantastic. I have an urgent warning for him though; people are having difficulties when doing final assembly; the separate bodyside/rocker area is the culprit; when stretching the body over the rear wheelwells and the bulkhead, it can easily crack the bodywork where the fender/rocker was applied. Mine cracked a bit on one side, others have had the entire part break right off. If he hasn't done a test fit, he should be verrrrrry careful assembling this area! Some have suggested not assembling the bulkhead to the chassis; letting it "float" inside the body while the chassis is installed, and then gluing the seats in from outside vs. before the chassis is installed. Best way to avoid cracking is to weld the part in place w/strong liquid cement, use some styrene strips to reinforce the glue joints, rescribe panel lines as necessary, and test fit while in primer. It sounds horrible, but it's not that bad...just knowing to look for it in advance is the most help.

ismaelg
Hello, In this installment: The kit's hood and decklid hold downs are nice, but not good enough for him. In fact, his look even better than the photoetch units which are flat. I have a pending conversation with him for a few questions I've received about this build by email and PMs. Thanks,
