new missing link 1965 buick wildcat!

That looks really nice Kevin !

I didn't see it on you website , is it available now ? And what donor kit is used ?

They are so fresh & ready they havent made it to the website yet! order when ready!

My best guess for a donor is the AMT 66 Wildcat. It even has the 65 dash (was never updated for the 66)........

you are correct any issue of the 66 wildcat will work

I'm assuming the the windshields from the AMT '66 Wildcat will fit this '65 copy.

Does anyone know of any other Kit sources that would provide the necessary glass? My guess is that certain full-sized Olds or Pontiacs (maybe Chevy, too?) of that era might share the same windshield.

[ And before everyone starts saying "try Modelhaus", let me mention that I don't want to wait for weeks and weeks to get the parts ]

The AMT '66 Wildcat is almost exactly the same as the '65 kit. Having said that, the glass from the 66 kit should fit the resin 65 like a glove.

I have inspected both kits together and I can say that both share most of the same parts. The 65 has a front bumper that flips up on the side and different tail lights. At a quick glance, it's hard to tell the difference.

Kevin picked a a good subject because the doner 66 kit gives you everything you need to get the job done and it won't break the bank either.

Thanks Bob, that is really 1 of the 2 reasons i did it, the 65 is long gone & you nailed the other reason!

Still asking if anyone knows if any other kit glass (besides the '66 Buick) will also fit???

The AMT '65 and '66 Wildcats used the same interior. Besides the differences in front and rear styling and exterior side trim, the interiors on the real cars are quite different. It has already been mentioned that the '66 dashboard on the real car was changed. The '66 seats and door panels had a new pattern, and should have had the slimback bucket seats GM started using that year. The Wildcat Custom had cool, round Wildcat emblems in the seatbacks - front and rear. Hopefully Round 2 will eventually correct these errors or someone will make these parts in resin.

Modelhaus did offer an '65 Buick custom at one time . Any other GM glass fitting is something we look to you for answers toylvr . I am not that familiar with these Ralphies enough . I do have a string including these MY's . I even have one built . When I build the rest I will have made Vacuum Form Reproductions out of necessity . All are glue Bombs except the '63 MY found in a Warehouse in the '80's .
I had a longer string in my first Collection . Too many years have past to make any judgements for glass interchangeability . Why don't you ask for a Vacuum formed reproduction ? These original parts are close to 45 years old . Needle in a Haystack and Hen's Teeth come to my mind . This would be an example of what I refer to : "does any one out there have and parts for a '60 Buick" ?? Really , I am lacking hood , chassis , guts , dash , steering wheel , boot . firewall , core support , complete engine and GLASS . I have the hard to get parts , in particular the original headlights . I think Modelhaus will be getting an order from me rather my finding originals . These pieces are just 5 years older . Do you understand what I mean ? If not , PM me please . Anyone having the '60 Buick parts , please PM me . Thanx ..
