  1. I share your interest in the '66 Impala SS being an original owner of a 1:1 back in the day. I also built the AMT kit when it came out and it would still be a great kit and the price of one may be more affordable now with the Revell model on the market. I would suggest trying to build the Revell version as it is slightly better with additional detailing that AMT did not have. Much the same can be said for the Revell kit in the box you show.
  2. In addition to Dave Vans excellent suggestions a couple of additional considerations. Try using a clean dedicated paint brush to wet the model's surface. The brush can also be used to move the decal around after application on the model, a blunted toothpick is another tool that can be used to gently move the decal if it is still wet. Use a piece of paper towel to wick away any excess moisture by just touching the edge of the decal once it is positioned.
  3. Like the way you did your two-tone colors and adding the chrome trim. Clean looking interior and engine detailing.
  4. This build has the "look" and the stance. Great color and the way the engine and suspension colors all work together. Very clean looking mechanical details.
  5. Great looking barn find. There may be no saving this one. Have known a few that rusted off of the frame by this point.
  6. Beautiful looking color and the body kit makes this look even more exotic.
  7. Great looking paint color and finish. For what it's worth, your problem with the wheels sitting to wide is an issue that I encountered as well building the original GT/GTA Fairlane kit years ago. Just something that AMT got wrong, but it is a nice kit.
  8. Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The interior contrast looks great.
  9. Beautiful looking paint finish and the painted accent trim looks good. Like the wheels and tires along with the stance. Was the Hemi engine in this kit?
  10. Beautifully done body work and paint. The body doesn't look like a toy now.
  11. Smooth like glass. Like the color as well.

Doesn't look like you lost any painting talents in the time you have been away. The color reminds me of the Chevrolet Danube Blue color, don't recall what Pontiac would have called it.
  13. Thank you for sharing your pictures. These earlier body styles look so much better than the oversized monstrosities of today.
  14. I have noticed a few new or newer Mazda's in my area with some really nice-looking colors. New OEM colors can be a good source for ideas with the models we all build.
