  1. These cars were donated to me; they're from the '60's and were given to a local racer from his fans. Basically, I got a box of broken pieces and 4 bodies. I've sorted through everything and now have a starting spot, kind of like raising Titanic!
  2. Yeah, that was a clean-looking car. Fast, too!
  3. I haven't been on this site very long and wanted to know what I did wrong posting about models for sale at a department store? If I did something wrong is wasn't on purpose, thought I was just giving fellow modelers a heads-up on cheap models? Sorry folks!
  4. Went ot Wal-Mart this a.m. and noticed they were selling models, again! Probably just a holiday deal, but a guy could pick up a few bargains while they last! All were marked $14.95 and had a few street rods, etc. Happy Holidays to all!
  5. Gettin' er done! Almost finished: Got the 6-banger installed/wired. Painted the body with Krylon Fusion - Pumpkin color to match 1:1 car. Addd graphics. Built/Installed headers, still a few things to do before it's completed!
  6. This is a replica of the '72 Modified driven by Terry Doss. This car was raced in Oklahoma City at State Fair Speedway. I'm using an Edmunds Super-Modifed kit for this build. I've added bracing on the back to match the original Jack Walker built car. Filled in the hole in the top. Lengthened frame to make it a to scale 100" chassis and added bar for radiator. Made hole in hood for the carb/air filter. Car is going to have an in-line 6. Added side panels for engine compartment.
  7. No, I got them for $10.00, each! More of a sprint car guy, but dig the early NASCAR when it was real racing!
  8. Found these today at a local thrift store: Both were opened, but complete kits! Looking forward to starting on these!
  9. Got the frame painted and casted myself a Gambler hood. The fuel cell is a spare one that I had, I have a new set of Cady/Wolfgang decals saved for this project. Taking time off next week so hope to get things going!
  10. Thanks! Looks like I posted this in the wrong section, but in a newbie here. This is based off of a 1/24 Monogram Challenger kit. I'm redoing the bracing to match the 1:1 car that Wolfie built. I'll be adding one of the resin hoods I've made for the early Gambler cars. Yes, Wolfgang was or is one of the best! It's a shame he got hurt, would like to see him mixing it up with Sammy and Steve! Lots of good stuff on this site!
  11. Start of my latest project, Doug Wolfgang/Weikert's Livestock sprint car. I'm converting the chassis to a Trostle/Wolfgang designed frame that Doug constructed himself in Bob Trostle's shop: More to come!
  12. Thanks for the comments! Sprint cars aren't suppose to look like show cars so I always do some weathering on them. Plan to post more pics, soon!
