Hiya fellas,
Well,as the title suggests, I'm relatively new around here. I had been lurking for a few months here and on some similar forums and decided to join up here a month or so ago.
I came for some questions and techniques, stayed for the superb talent and the support everyone shares.
As a kid (mid-80's) I put a handful of kits together and generally remember a fondness for it, they're long gone now, wish I had them to redo but nope.
Anywho, about 2 years ago I received the revell 32 5 window 2n1 as a gift and the proverbial bug bit..
Next came a Lindberg 37 chevy from my girlfriend - didn't care for the scale but I do care for the gf,haha so i went together.. Actually an enjoyable build. Shortly after, i dove into the amt 49 merc 3n1 and loved that one, lots of fun. Next, came the amt raiders coach which I unfortunately found very frustrating and its been shelved for awhile until the urge to throw it against the wall subsides.
Currently doing the revell Roth 56 f-100 and although its got its fair share of gremlins, I'm finding nice tips here to continue. I'm also taking a few pics as i go,so I may try my hand at a build thread..maybe.
And then that aforementioned bug made me grab the monogram 55 bel air, now sitting on deck. Looks to be a good one.
So, this hobby doesn't appear to be a passing fad. I'm having a ball. I have a number of other hobbies but I find this to be extremely relaxing and rewarding and the girlfriend gives it the stamp of approval as it keeps me 'off the streets' so to speak.
So, just a "hi there and thanks" for such a great and welcoming place. I'm floored by the majority of amazing work I've seen and although I've been searching like crazy for some tips and tricks of the trade I know that when the time comes, the forum will be there. Soon the plan is to take it to the next level- bmf, flocking, weathering etc. as I have zero interest in doing box art builds...
Thanks again, great site.
