  1. Oh, don't I know it... I have a couple of projects tucked away, that date back to the late 1980's/early 1990's... The problem is that my mind conceives new project ideas much faster than I can actually make them happen.
  2. This project started way back in January of 2014. A deep dive into the parts box yielded a bunch of bits and pieces for this weird tribute to the show customs of the early 1960's I'm not sure where all the custom parts originated, but a rear Styling piece was narrowed to mate to the cut down T bird quarters, while some add on type fins were mounted to create the cantilever style fins. At this point the project was packed away and just kind of forgotten about for several years.... At some point I dug out the old T bird and cleaned up some of the bodywork before packing it away again Another year or so passed and the bodywork received a bit more attention and a final wheel and tire selection was made (Modelhaus '59 Dodge Lancer and no-name white walls).... Once again the project was set aside for a couple of years. Which brings me to now.... A couple of days ago I dug out the T-bird again and started cutting up the kit hood so that I could splice in a custom Corvette hood with a scoop. I need to pick up some fresh Bondo to do the necessary filling (mine had gone bad)... Not sure if I will stick with the half Carson top. Toyed with using a bubble top, but to me that looked a bit too Predicta like. While I realize that this isn't a lot of people's cup of tea, I'm hoping that at least a few might relate to where I'm going with this.
  3. My experiences are similar to yours... Have had 99.999% success both receiving and shipping. The only failure I recall was a decal set that appeared to have been damaged (envelope and contents both torn) in a postal sorting machine. Fortunately the seller had insured the shipment and was able to send a replacement.
  4. This is simply fantastic... You have absolutely nailed the gasser look and feel.
  5. I actually started this one a few years back as a gasser coupe, based on Monogram's classic stock coupe kit.... Directions shifted a bit when I discovered one of Glen Ford's resin Vicky bodies on eBay... Even after that, it languished on the project shelf, until I saw Tim Boyd's awesome '30 coupe gasser in Model Cars Magazine #222... Then it was off to the (drag) races!!!! The Monogram kit chassis was beefed up with extra cross members, while suspension bits and rear differential were gathered from a deep dive through my parts bin... The supercharged small block Chevy power plant was sourced from Monogram's '55 Chevy Gasser kit (formerly the BadMan) Body mods included removal of the running boards and hood sides.... Firewall was tunneled for engine clearance.... I also modified the top insert on the resin body, to more closely mirror the insert on an actual '30 Vicky... Though you can't really see it, I pieced together a somewhat suitable interior from the stock Model A and various parts bin bits.... Paint is Tamiya PS-17 Metallic Green, over Tamiya white primer, and was cleared using Dupli-Color 1K.... Decals are from various Slixx sheets... For better or worse, this makes two finished this year.... Double of what I'd accomplished the previous two years combined.... And it's only mid-April!!!! 😉
  6. All are cool.... But the Mako Shark is fantastic!!!
  7. A little more progress today..... Got the insert painted. Think that it really makes the green "pop".
  8. I was actually very pleasantly surprised. Had my taxes figured yesterday and am getting a fairly large refund this year.
  9. Took The Lovely Miss Bella to the vet on Monday to be spayed. She was not happy when we brought her home that evening, and spent most of yesterday in a corner just keeping pretty much to herself.... Thankfully, today, she is back to being her typical, social, loving self...
  10. I'm loving it..... Looks very much like what the "kids" around here are doing with late model stuff (Mustangs, Chargers, Challengers, etc) around here. A lot of the old guys my age don't like it, but I think it is awesome!
  11. A kitty from my past.... This was Baby. I fell in love with her literally the moment she was born ( the mother was my grandson's cat, which lived with us because his mother wouldn't let him have a pet). She loved to hang out in the hobby room and just watch. Sadly, she was very much in indoor/outdoor kitty, so when we moved into an apartment she was absolutely miserable staying strictly inside. With the help of our local shelter, we were able to find her a new home where she is free to roam the yard again. It really broke my heart to let her go, but it was what was best for her.
  12. Very cool.... Looks ready to stun on HOT ROD Magazine's Power Tour!!!!😎
  13. I keep coming back to this post.... Your little hot rod is nothing short of mind blowing!!!
