Bud : Kelly, spell " Off " ( he's burnt looking and smoke is rising from his head ) Kelly looking sheepish and turning away ) O... something. bbowser
Alf was great. Imagine the networks trying to put out a show like that today? But then again, I Dream of Jeannie, Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, et al, all shows firmly rooted in reality

Chief Joseph
To sink even deeper into the depths of nerd-dom, do any of you remember seeing the cartoon ALF show? It chronicled Gordon Shumway's adventures on Melmac, before he came to Earth.
Edsel-Dan
Watched Both series!! Wish they were on again. I Think the Original series is available on DVD, but not the Cartoon.
Joe Handley
I seem to remember reading recently that there was plans to produce an ALF movie, with the same puppeteer to play and voice ALF!

Deathgoblin
My wife still has her ALF doll from when the show was on. She had it in the hospital with her both times she had open heart surgery, the first time when she was 10, and last year just for good luck. Harry P.
No sitcom can ever equal the greatness of "Green Acres!" Oliver: What is that? Lisa: It's hot water soup! Oliver: Hot water soup??!! Lisa: Yes! Soup made out of hot water. Oliver: That's it??? Just hot water??? Lisa: Of course! What else would you put in hot water soup? Chuck Most
My favorite sitcom is "Titus" though. Ditto. And his standup acts are awesome, as well. The best part of his sitcom? His real-life father gave the actor playing him tips on how to play him more convincingly.

charlie8575
I think ALF was the really last funny TV comedy, along with some of the other shows of that era, like Mr. Belvidere, Full House, Boy Meets World, and similar programs. Great shows that weren't too confrontational or overtly offensive. A little coarse comedy every so often is okay, but too much lessens your humanity and sends wrong messages to our youth. And I do remember the ALF cartoon, it was on when I was in high school or about my freshman year in college. I enjoyed that, too. Danny Lectro
I actually have issue #1 of the ALF comic book from back in the day. I bought it for less than $2 dollars, and then saw it listed for $15 a few months later. I thought I had hit a gold mine, but got nowhere when I tried to sell it some time later. I absolutely remember The Young Ones, I think it was one of the funniest shows i had ever seen. "It must be some kind of negative reality inversion!" diymirage
i always enjoyed thier "mather of fact-ness" when setting up a joke...like this one VYVYAN: Yeah, my potion! My potion as well! NEIL: What potion? VYVYAN: It's a potion I've invented where when the patient drinks it he turns into an axe-wielding, homicidal maniac! It's basically a cure. For not being an axe-wielding, homicidal maniac. The potential market's enormous! NEIL: [taking a Coca-Cola can out of the fridge] What, is this it? VYVYAN: Yeah! Yeah, I put it in a Coke can so nobody'd drink it by mistake. NEIL: [placing can atop the refrigerator] You know, I just bet a bit later on somebody does drink that and turns into an axe-wielding, homicidal maniac! on a side note, i was watching an episode of the young ones the other day and who did i see but doctor house anyone else notice him aswell ?
