Like i need another project but after messing up the paint on 2 models (ranchero and Blazer) I decided to make something that doesn't need a good paint job. So here is what I am working on it is a 55 f100 all I had was the cab so I cut the front fenders off and started brush painting it so I can do some weathering. I am also scratch building a frame. Its going to have a blown 427 motor in it and a ford 9 in rear. this is also going to be my first rat rod type build. so far I have started painting the cab and started working on the frame here is the progress so far.

I am wanting some input on this I had to scratch build the firewall. I was wondering if you think it would look good as aluminum checker plate and make it chrome like something added afterwards or just paint it and weather it. here is a pic of the motor sitting in the frame and the firewall on the truck. thanks

01blueedge,

How about doing the firewall up with signs like you did with the interior. I've seen it done for floorboards but not firewalls.

Just a thought.

I got a little more done to this I got the motor in the rear suspension in and made my seat. I just used some old fabric and painted in brown to make it look like it had an old blanket laid across it. here are the pics of the final ride height and the seat
