Leyland DAF 95 380 ATi

Recommended Posts

This is a model that I built a couple of years ago that I thought I would share with you.

The kit is the old Italeri Leyland DAF Commercial Motor special edition, this being a special edition because this was one of the rare occasions that an Italeri kit came with a right hand drive dashboard.

Because the decals were shot, I decided to go with my own ficticious colour scheme, that being Ford Juice green metallic paint from Halfords and a chassis that was painted in grey primer and the decals were from my decal spares box.

The rear susies were scratch built and the solid plastic tyres which came with the kit were swopped in favour for a set from a Scania wrecker which had rubber tyres and chrome wheels. The rear mudguards were taken from a Mercedes truck and the rear locker, roof lights, air horns and marker posts are from the truck accesories set.

Numberplates and surrounds are from KFS as is the DILLIGAF plate in the front windscreen ( a nod there to Kevin Bloody Wilson, the Aussie comedian) and there is a photo reduced poster of glamour girl Ruth Higham on the rear wall (although unfortunately, you can't quite see it!!)

The mountain bike behind the cab is from the Fujimi roof box accessories set, I had the idea to do this after a truck passed me once with one strapped to the back of it's cab.

As usual, all comments are welcome and thanks for looking guys.

Thanks for all your comments guys, I really appreciate them.

Scott,if I remember rightly, this DAF is the Master Truck that you are referring to, I no longer have the box to check but if it has Commercial Motor decals and has a right hand drive dashboard, then you have the one that I have built here. I am glad that I have given you inspiration to build yours, after all, is'nt what this is all about?? Thanks again for all your comments.
