51 Chevy Unconvertible

Hello again guys, this is another project I've got on the go. Normally Id never buy a convertible kit but I knew I had a roof from a 49 Ford that recently had a roof swap. I had to slice the roof down the center and add a triangular fillet towards the rear but it was a very close fit. I used some half round evergreen for the belt line and window mouldings. Other than the 49 Ford taillights siiting vertical an the peaked head lights theres no plans for any other body mods. Anyways, here's where I'm at so far. As always any comments or suggestions are welcome. post-5297-0-31658300-1374495761_thumb.jppost-5297-0-76009300-1374495779_thumb.jppost-5297-0-75336500-1374495796_thumb.jppost-5297-0-77059500-1374495812_thumb.jp

Looks good so far, I'd go with the Caddy caps as well, but I tend to like the '50s style more than the late big alloy wheel look.

If you go for the taildragger look, take a bit more out of the rear pillars compared to the front pillars, but should look good whatever way you do it.

Cheers

Matt

Thanks for the comments and ideas guys. I think I'm gonna go with the bigger wheels... I kinda like the high roof on this one so a roof chop is pretty much out of the question at this point as the roof has already been sliced down the middle and the area above the front windshield has already been filled and shaped.
