Mid-Atlantic NNL is history

That was a great time, thanks Lyle. The experience went a long way to motovate me to get really strong back into building and at the same time, it gave Heather a better understanding of the hobby that has been a life long love for me. I'll be back!

John,

YOU WON the replica stock award. I told you not to leave so early. :)

Let me know if you are going to the regular MAMA meeting next Saturday and I'll bring it to you. Your 1/12th scale Camaro was the car that won.

Man, I really don't know what to say... Except I didn't expect any awards. There were some very impressive models at this show! It was a great time seeing all of the talent, talking with other builders, having one of my models photographed by Jim, and an award in a tough catigory. 'Twas a good day espsecially since one of your promises didn't happen...

No grumpy wife!!! (I didn't think she'd be there!)

Your Camaro shows some very impressive skills. I brought the red SS396 and am currently working on an SS350. It didn't take me long to realize that I was glad we entered in different catigories! I have half a$$ed scratch built a single 4 bbl intake manifold and am curious about the source for one like yours, and the air filter too. It looks really good.

The intake I scratch-built. Their were no single intakes made in 1/12 scale. The air cleaner was made by a good friend of mine on his lathe. He turned all the aluminum that was on the car. When I found out you were comming to the show ; I hoped you were going to enter rep. stock. You did a really fine job on your Camaro and Corvette. Congrats!!

so where was this? I cannot tell by your topic heading. made me look. Is there a town or state? I have been to 2 nnnl events in m"mid-atlantic" states, and this appears to be neither one.

It's held in Towson, MD at their Armory every May--------and is hosted by the MAMA club out of Greenbelt, MD. ;)

:D John, Congrats on your award! Also great that you could share it with your "significant other" Sometimes a mate will wonder whats so important, that you spend so much time on a model, Well, the pleasure one derives from building what they feel is the "best one yet"is even better when it can be shared, and even BETTER when it can be used to show how much OTHERS appericiate all ones hard work! Now she probly won't ask why anymore, but "whatcha workin on now?"It is a beautiful build! :D

Thanks George... That's what I love about the meetings and friendly contests. The comradary, meeting people who have been involved with our hobby for years longer than I have and sharing knowledge. This S**t is FUN!!! Heather has never asked why I do what I do because she has built some model cars in her distant past. She is very acceptant and tolerant of my (our) hobby.
