70 Pontiac Firebird

Finally off the bench, Revell 'Motor City Muscle' kit from 2006.

I read somewhere due to a licensing issue the 'Trans Am' decals were not included, so I had a friend make some for me and a fantastic job he did too!

After looking at countless pictures of this car, I settled for the gloss white paint & blue stripes. rather than using a clear coat, I decided to polish the paint using the Tamiya coarse then finishing compounds.

Colour is 'Mr Colour ' white and the interior is 'Tamiya' TS-54 light metallic blue (with a dull coat) also using a Revell flat blue as a secondary colour.

Engine was enhanced using a pre-wired dizzy and dominator carby from 'Pro-Tech' and I did a subtle 'drop' at the front end. I was going to use Pegasus Chrome Ts for the wheels but settled for the factory rims which were de-chromed and repainted silver.

Thanks for looking guys :) .

Really good looking Bird....I think the white and blue give the car a really "Rich" look.....Sammy Hagar did a song Trans Am High Way Wonderland.......I Bet'cha this is the car he was havin' in mind when he was belt'n that tune out. You built a nice car. I remember the 67 to 69s some of those had 400 ci with the Tri Power set up....I think the T/A had a smaller displacment cant remember the ci....Its late here....But that Motor was a higher reving/turned rpm quick and laid down power real nice. My older brother Gary had a 67 chevy impala ss 427 with 4 on the floor....for a Big Fire Breathing Impala it was really fast, he was a street racer and could speed shift really well, Still any Pontiac with a "Bulge" in the hood was well respected on the Blvd. If you get a chance please post the ci on that engine....One of my pals had a Camaro with a 307 It ran real nice but he had it "Souped Up". Since both cars are GM there might be some "Kinship".....Thanks for posting the Pics Brings back memories of good times on the Blvd.

Nice build! Love it in white...What's the paint used for the interior?

X2 i did a '69 glacier blue camaro with a blue interior and i did not get it quite as nice as yours. I plan to recreate the scheme when i do the 1/12 version.
