1/16th KW K-100 Sorry no more pics......

Roy, The K-100 Aerodyne is my favorite style truck of ANY era! It's looks and lines just talk to me... I've done some 'silly but brave' things in my modeling lifetime but never would have thought to convert a Conventional into a COE... Much less, in 1/16 scale... scratchbuilt interior and engine to boot... what engine did the kit have in it originally?

All the 1/16 Monogram trucks have 3408 CAT'S ...I just wanted a Cummins NTCC400BC!!! Just to be different...

Looks great! Like the work on the cummins as well.....I know how much work this project is; I have one at about the same place; only I am doing a flat top; my truck is going to be a full custom; so I plan on doing a detroit 12 to go in it; along with an Alison auto trans...Again; great work scaling up..........Matt

please tell me that you will share ans cast all that stuff?????

Hey Gordon!!This is just a "Test" to see if I could do it, Now I know I can...But,I plan on a second truck to be made as a "Buck" to cast, If...I can find a resin caster to do the cab and interior and engine only... I don't know anything about resin casting!!! I would be glad to share but right now it's wait and see,And I know that sux!!! And you also know theres a very limited market for something like this...Alot of things factor into the feasibility of this being done,Especially the affordability or cost to the consumer and be able to make some kind of profit at the same time...If you aren't making any money...Then theres no reason to produce it...All I can say right now is...Only time will tell...Thanks Roy

Great to see someone thinking out side the box, and boy are you doing a great job so far, I really like how you have tackled this baby, and just how many parts you can use from the W900 kit,

Now, what are you doing for cab hinges, brass maybe a good option here, as there is some weight in that cab, isn't that metal glow plastic fun to work with,

with the dash and console, doesn't the console wrap around a little more?

Glad to see someone else enjoying the large scale

I used the entire chassis,Transmission,sleeper,etc...Basically I used the whole truck less the hood,I cut the fronts of the fenders off to get the headlight buckets, cut the cab all apart to use the doors and jambs and the center section of the roof. and I cut the doorpanels out of the interior, the seats and bases steering wheel and column and so on...There is very little waste of the kit,actually...The dash shape is correct to a 1980...And depending on how a particular truck was optioned, 3 dash designs were available...The cab hinges will be 16 gauge sheet metal...I haven't had much luck with brass...Painting sheet metal requires less prep than brass too,And not to mention...Cheaper!!! Oh....And workin' with "Metalglow"....LOL !!! It's a Blast!!!
