slowlylearning
Thanks Im still not sure about the wheels. There was a motorcycle and sidecar scratchbuilt on here somewhere that had awesome scratchbuilt wheels and Id love to have a go at building some of my own. I just need lots of practice Wheels are proving very difficult for me, I can never seem to get perfect circles.
tooltas
I like the spokes too if you got a set of 22s from rides kits by amt. them spokes fit them... .
slowlylearning
I was thinking about scratching up some more 'dainty' looking wheels
crazyrichard
well the steelies look perfect but i also loved those spoked wheels .. those would make for a unique build and look .... so more realism would work with the steelies but those spoked wheels are just insanely cool and different from the mainstream
slowlylearning
I had a go at making fancy wheels with the rims and tires of the spoked ones, still working out a design... Going to make new rear wheels that are a bit thicker and bigger than the stock spoked items. Woohoo for destroying sheet styrene!
PappyD340
Very KOOL project you got going KC (IMO) I think either wheel set will look great, I like it!!
slowlylearning
Ta mate Pic-at-ures Not really the style I was going for, but I went with it, really rough etc. but yeah I think Ill make another couple different designs. slowlylearning
Thanks mate I'm really trying to make wheels that have the same 'dainty' style as the ones on this 1:9 scale motorcycle by Brizio, who is a member here. I saw this build in the scratchbuilding thread (http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67014&page=3). I hope Brizio doesnt mind me posting the picture here That is my favorite thread ever, there's so much skill here!!!!!
slowlylearning
Tried making wheels again. I need a soldering iron, glue wont stick this stuff together. Bend some wire from sparklers etc, thats the back side of it... pics.
ScrappyJ
Yeah...that looks good too. I agree that this style fits your project better.

slowlylearning
Its taken a backseat I'm afraid, I think I need a lot more scratchbuilding/detailing practice before I attempt a build like that. Heres a coupe pics of what Ive been working on in the mean-time. GTX engine 31 'Balsa-Fun' at the very start, scratchbuilt a chassy for it. bryan_m
great idea with the wood kasey, very cool. try not to use balsa wood though, it gets too "furry" lookin when you sand it. whenever possible, use basswood, its harder, easier to sand, and stands up well over time...your local hobby shop should have it, right in the same display that they have the balsa wood. keep it goin! cheers bryan
