The Hornet's Nest: Hudson Hornet Build Madness!

Interior is mostly dialed in on the abandoned Hornet droptop.

I cut off the front of the dash and replicated the framework behind it. I also made up new side panels.

And then I filled out the interior with some assorted debris, the kind of stuff you'd find in a junkard car with no seats. I've noticed such vehicles tend to become makeshift storage sheds of sorts under those kinds of circumstances.

This has been on a hold for a while, but I'm back at it! Now this time it will get finished, I'll promise. ;) I finished the interior, dashboard is painted body color and foiled and decaled. I found no problems with putting this interior together, and this interior is really easy to make look good.

And started Polishing the body.... Top, trunk lid and part of the side is polished...Still long way to go...

Thanx Doctor! My plan is to get this one finished next week, there's a Model Car Show on Saturday, so that's my plan.

I finally got the body polished and it turned out very good. It looks better in person, though. Somehow didn't manage to take any better pictures, but I hope you get the idea. Next I have to remove some wax from it (White in the door lines, grooves etc.). Then it's time to start another "NightMare"- BMF!

Alright, I managed to get this one done for the Model Car Show. Here are the rest WIP Pictures.

I Foiled the body, and I really have to say that it was huge job to do, and not very easy either. The End Result is not perfect, but Good Enough for me. Then I installed the rear windows. The windshield fitted nicely, but I had problems with the rear window. But finally I got it installed nicely, and the body looked like this.

The body and chassis fitted really nicely together, and after some engine detailing and installing few chrome parts, it was almost done...

Here is the End-Result in the Show.

I will post pics to Under Glass, I'll add the link in here too.

Now starting the Fabulous Hudson Hornet Stock Car! :D

Thanks Chuck!

How many Hudsons you've already built? There are so many that I can't remember. I mean that it's really nice to see a lot of these nice Hudsons being built, especially with a talented builder like you.

BTW: Just in case someone did not see the UnderGlass post already, here's the link on my Hudson: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70023

crazy Chuck - how many Hornets do you have in your shelf?!? And...how many are ready built?

Amazing...i think that actual Conv comes out reeeeeealy sharp. What means "eensy teensy"? uiuiui....so many questions...

Six finished, one nearly finished, and six more in varios stages. And I've got about as many ideas for more. I think I really like these.

"Eensy teensy" is just a cute way of saying "small". :D
