  1. As far as the customization of the car and what I think I will need I will say that due to the size of the container I think I will need to go with a 1:12 scale car. I may have to purchase a couple different model kits to get the right parts, (remember I am new to model building and do not have experience building my own model parts). Here is what stands out at this moment: 1967 RS/SS Camaro Camaro Rally wheels 1969 Z/28 Camaro spoiler 2" cowl hood Here are the pics of the car after it was completed and he got to drive it:
  2. Hello all. I have many years of automotive forum experience, however I am new here. What brings me here is an interesting project I plan to take on asap. I will try to make this short as possible. I am a huge Ford fanatic and a lot of my family are auto enthusiasts too. One in particular was a close uncle of mine who recently passed from cancer. His very first car he owned was a 1967 Camaro RS/SS. He drove it a for a couple years and then decided to tear it down to restore. Over the course of the next 24 years the project barely progressed, but it was one of the loves of his life. Dec 2012 he was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive strain of stomach cancer. They gave him 2 weeks to live. Over the course of the next 6-8 months, his brother-in-law (another close uncle of mine) who has a lot of experience building Camaros took my dying uncle's Camaro and had it restored in the hopes he could drive it again before he passed. They succeeded; in his last month he got to enjoy his Camaro and drive it a few more times and even in one local car cruise/show. He fought the hardest fight and lost his battle in September of 2013 a couple weeks after his 44th birthday. He leaves behind a loving wife of 21 years and two teenage daughters. His wife chose cremation which leads me here... I plan to build a model replica of his completed 1967 RS/SS with a big change; the interior will be gutted and will house a container for his ashes. This will be his new urn. I looked at urns with my aunt and none seemed to suit something my uncle would have enjoyed, so I thought why not build something we know he would love to be in. Any information, tips and recommendations would be appreciated throughout this project. I will start a build thread when the scale and type has been chosen. Thanks, FFS
