  1. your trucks are always amazing. it wont matter what you do to it it will look better than any i can build.
  2. looks good but im not brave enough yet to chop one up. i am going to do a flatbed like that.
  3. looks good but im not brave enough yet to chop one up. i am going to do a flatbed like that.
  4. i read on another web site how to build a disposable spray booth. i didnt want a disposable so this is what i built. to some it may look crude but it does a good job. you can build a plywood box any size. being an appliance repair technician i used parts i collected out of some junk. the glass dish is a working turntable out of a microwave. the fan is out of a range hood. the lights you could use what ever suited you. i find that i need a larger fan so i am going to get one out of a microwave. everything is wired on switches and one plug in. set up in unused back bedroom and vented outside for now
  5. this truck is a culmination of all the information i have collected in the last 6 months off this forum. i greatly appreciate all the answered questions and info i have read here from you guys. i have built 2 cars 1 pickup and this in the last year. this one took about 6 months. any comments good or bad appreciated. thanks to all. i did not put alot of detail into the interior on this one
  6. here are some works in progress. first truck in 35 years
  7. well i am bidding on the flatbed i want on e-bay but somebody is really jacking it up. but im gonna hang on for a reasonable amount anyway.
  8. thanks. i checked about 20 websites today and i couldnt find a 40 ft flatbed any where. i am getting ready to do the movin on truck and wanted to do a flatbed instead of a box like the tv. show because i have more options of the load i can put on it. i havent built a box trailer in about 30 years but would a box van have the right type of floor details to do as a flatbed instead. thanks for the help
  9. ok evil bay didnt have any trailers that i liked. please give me some on line sites where i could find a flat bed or a box trailer unless some one has one to sell. thanks
  10. thanks for the info. after i put on the chrome shields in front of the air cleaners it was even worse. since i am not into engine detailing yet there is no loss not seeing under the hood so on this one the hood will not open and i like the way it looks. the pictures you listed were awesome. i have been working on this truck for 7 months and ready for it to be done. next i want to do a tractor trailer and do faster. catch ya later
  11. i am finalizing the triple axle peterbilt wrecker and the hood does not fit right. i had to grind off the step on the back of the fenders and they still rub on the air cleaners. which means i cant use the rear mudflaps. also after installing the front bumper then the hood wont tilt. what am i doing wrong .i figured you guys that have been doing this for longer than me may have ran into something like this and would have a helpful hint. also i did not glue the cab into place until i had the sleeper on and the hood on to try and get the right fit lines for the hood.
  12. I have done this very same thing. I am an appliance repairman by day and modeler by night. I mounted it in the back and vented it with dryer vent out spare bedroom window .but heres another trick. i took an old microwave and used the turntable and motor and hooked it up too. talk about a handy device. i also got 2 small flourescent lights and put on the lid. i have pictures if i can figure out how to get them on here. right now i have time because i just had shoulder surgery and its even hard to type. i wired mine one speed and put separate switches on all different items.the next time i junk out another microwave/venthood im going to use the exhaust fan out of it. its a little bit stronger and at times when spraying fingernail polish i need more. any questions just ask.
  13. well man to be honest i havent had the time. i want to be sure nobodys around to bug me. hopefully i will be able to try this weekend. i made me a photo box to take the pictures in that can be used with or without mirrors. really cool effect with the way i have the lighting set up on my workbench. unfortunately i find since i started wearing glasses last year it takes more light to do any thing. thanks for checking though. if it works i guess you will be one of the first to know. later jeff
  14. ok guys i am almost computer illiterate.but if someone has the time some day and would like to help me out i would like to know how to post some pictures on this wonderful site. i love looking at everyone elses ideas and details i would like some feed back on what i am doing.it is so cool to see guys talking to each other about their hobby and acting like they have been life long friends. i just feel the need to share what i do too as there is no one here that even understands what we do. nobody else cares why you would fill the seams on the rearends or the sleeper joints. they just dont get it.you guys have no idea the amount of info i have absorbed in the 3 months i have been reading this site before i joined. you all and your friendliness is the reason i joined. thanks for the help and listening to me babble.
  15. i am new here but from what i read all you guys seem like good people. i have been working on the peterbilt can do wrecker for about 6 months. today i realize i have misplaced both sections of the extendable boom. i thought maybe someone might have done something else with this kit and have a boom left over. and i would still like a set of tires for another rig i am building. will pay. any help would be greatly appreciated.
