Well, I got some goat or lambskin leather from dealers. For them it's only scrap, cause there is no use for gloves and pouches, for it is too skinny. They usually just sort it out and trash it in the can. They don't even can imagine, what some insane people will pay for some piece of hide 0.1mm thick. Unfortunately, the range of colors is poor. You can get them in a light brown or a light grey. Had no problem until now, to get them airbrushed with waterbased acrylic flat paints. I hope, that Alfalfa seconds me, who got a large part of Italian capretta hide by me. It's all a question of research for the material, that will fit your model. This stuff is almost paperthin and moving it along curved edges is almost no problem. So is the piping made of genuine leather. Keep your eyes open to look for 0.5mm leather piping. No more trouble with any coated wire a.s.o.

Thank you for support, Skip.Will kick in your door. Think, that it's easier to get access to a Gullwing in the States. Most of them were sold there. Scott, you're propably right. My first intention was to go on leather, too, but I got hooked on the Rudge wheels and an owner of the real car told me, that he is preferring the plaid fabric, because it's not that slippery. By the way, Cato. I second your comment concerning Skip.

Hi Cato, that will take it's time. Like mentioned, the kit is offered part by part in a subscription. Won't start the built, until the last piece is on my workbench, but I am setting up the cornerstones already. It will be a graphite-grey car with blue and white plaid upholstery, Rudge wheels, no bumper horns.

Once upon a time, there was a really bad guy. Handed over a Pocher Testarossa to Alex. This model had two pounds of lime green paint on it, but Alex made it!!

We're doing the Gullwing in eighth scale right now. Eaglemoss has issued the model, that will take about two years to be completed. Parts seem to be be fairly fine until now.

Welcome to the board Alex, as I said:" You can run, and you can hide, but I'll get you." Pretty good job, so far. By the way...MMC's spark plug wire isn't cloth coated. Just Vinyl. But the source of the yellow and black cloth-coated wire has dried out. I am still biting my nails, having overhanded all of my wire for free to buddies.. IMHO it's a fake. Air plenum is 4.2 litre. So is the dash and centerconsole. Some guys try to reach higher prices of so called "barn finds". It is weathering in 1/1 scale.

I could only identify the model at a second glance, because of the missing panelling under the hood. Pretty well done! The Jag's owner is a lucky guy....he's got the real thing and a wonderful replica in large scale,too.

Another large project of a great car. Will stay tuned on this one! Rapid prototyping is now offering the possibilities, many of us just dreamed about in former years. Your courage to go on a built like this is remarkable.Thank you for sharing it.
