SoCalCarCulture
Oh, thanks. What program does that? Ask the photographer what he used - there are numerous programs out there - I was just showing you what it looked like before manipulation. groo12
Is it just me, or do these pictures look fake? They look like CGI. I used Photomatix HDR. It really needs to be redone as there shouldn't be that slight halo around it. I really love how it brings out the texture of the rust. Here is an example I am really happy with and that has had over 1000 people have a look. http://www.redbubble.com/people/groo12/works/6281559-only-one-owner-46-chevy Any questions, please ask. peekay
Still loving this thread. It's always been my dream to cruise the country roads of America in some appropriate ride but visiting family in NY/NJ once in a blue moon seems to be as far as I ever get. I'll be cruising the state this summer, hoping to see everything there is to see. Let's hope my bug will make it! If the new dune buggy gets done soon I may take it instead. deja-view
Still loving this thread. It's always been my dream to cruise the country roads of America in some appropriate ride but visiting family in NY/NJ once in a blue moon seems to be as far as I ever get. I think most of us here are pioneers or pilgrims in our minds. I keep saying I am going to stop along my incredible biways and hiways and stroll around taking pics of stuff that will soon disappear. Sadly, I never seem to take the time...and the buildings and vehicles are fading away. In Nevada, even the huge sand dunes and mineral-filled mountains shift and are cut down by erosion or mining. My last trip of two weeks revealed major changes in landscape that had seemed to defy time up until now. We should all vow to stop at least 3 times and take pics when we see something interesting. That "lost" 30 minutes at our destination would be well paid for in better memories caught on film or bytes. Like this classy hotel in Pioche, NV: Hosted on Fotki Or this $1MM courthouse for Lincoln County. That's $1 Million in the 1800's. Kinda like government today, isn't it! SoCalCarCulture
I agree with the stopping to see things while travelling - here's a few from Massachusetts...
deja-view
Of course, then there are the buildings that should have been gone long ago, but various civic groups and busybodies keep conning the taxpayers into resurrecting them. Like this hotel/casino that has gone broke many times, been burned at least twice, torn down to the ground once or twice, detsroyed by vandals and bums, used as a political tool for decades, used as a racial statement for decades, and is considered such an integral part of the Las Vegas racial history it just won't go away. I'm not even sure what's there now because I won't drive by the area to see anymore. SoCalCarCulture
These benches were in a plaza in Downtown Flagstaff, Arizona - phone cameras make it so easy to capture moments in time...
SoCalCarCulture
My wife and I discovered this great restaurant, Mountain Oasis, across the street from that plaza - awesome food, try it out if you find yourself in Flagstaff... ...her dinner... ...and mine... '08SEAL
Here's some cars from around town, more than I expected. This is in front of my friend's grandpa's house. This is our trusty rusty 88 'stang Bronco. Rat rod that was in the latest car show. Trans Am. Ranchero on my grandmas street. A dodge pickup truck Note: These were taken on my ipod when I stopped on my 4 wheeler. This is only one side of town.
gray07
Love all of these pictures, the problem these days it is too easy to jump on the interstates or toll roads, if iam not in a hurry i always drive threw the little towns, you are missing too much driving the interstates. SoCalCarCulture
A few months ago I was in Burlington, WA and had some time to kill so I was shopping in the Eddie Bauer Outlet Store. Suddenly one of the clerks says, "isn't that a Rolls Royce" so of course I had to look. I glanced out the window and saw the front end and thought no big deal an old '70s Rolls, then I realized it had a wagon body so I had to take a few pics... 021512 1971 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Shooting Brake 024 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr See the rest of the pics here

Aaronw
Some shots from my drive to work Apparently there is a wood carver in the area, some people are more creative then others when nature gives them dead trees / stumps. The cowboy is probably 10 feet tall, here he is compared to the street sign I guess there is never enough yard art because this old Chevy boom truck is on the same corner

Aaronw
I found this in a Vons parking lot in Bishop, CA. Would not be a bad way to travel around and see the sights, yes it really is an RV.
charlie8575
Dave, great shots of Boston. The ugly building behind the Duck in Boston City Hall, which was named in the last week by an architectural magazine as one of 25 buildings in America that needs to be torn down NOW. Can't say as though I disagree- it's hideous. The Swan Boats at the Public Gardens are a wonderful treat, and well worth a few bucks and a ride around the pond. Nice shot of the Leonard Zakim-Bunker Hill Bridge, too. If your travels ever bring you back here, let me know, I can show you all kinds of great photo shoots. The losh kebab/yalanchi plate your wife had looked good. They've got a customer if I ever find myself there. GREAT airiel shots, too.
