Looking for a specific car from 80s-90s. Help needed

Hi guys! Since I'm Swedish my NASCAR knowledge is nothing to brag about. (however I did cry when Garth Brooks sang a tribute to Dale, ugh.. )

When I was younger I found a couple of my dads old tossed away models in the attic. And in the box there was this wonderful body of a semi-built NASCAR.

The car was metallic, almost a cactus green, and I think the kit was molded in this color but I can be wrong. I'm also pretty sure it was box stock, therefore I think some manufacturer released this green, unknown, wonderful NASCAR.

Any ideas?

Oh yeah, that car's actually metallic green... Don't know if the kit is molded in color, though.

I bought a can of Remington green on ebay about a year ago new. great color..

It could be the Quaker state Buick, but somehow the front end of the Buick doesn't seem right in my memory.

Definitely the right shade of color on the first two Brett. I think it was somewhat metallic.

The skoal seems a bit to old though.

The John Deere Pontiac is molded in white. That and the Remington kit were produced about the time when Revellogram started using white for all the kits. Although, I do have a Todd Bodine Factory Stores TBird that is molded in blue.

The Factory Stores kit is for the 95 T-Bird, the Remington Kit is for the 96 and up T-Birds, and that difference is when Revellogram started doing NASCAR kits in white plastic, at least on the Ford NASCAR kits is what I recall

I don't know how much I can be of help Robin...

But if the NASCAR kit was molded in color it must have been a Monogram brand kit from sometime in the 80's, they had many kits molded in colored plastic back in the day and some in metallic plastic...I do have a Monogram 1970 Dodge Challenger molded in "Metal Glow" red and an Shelby Cobra 427 S/C in "Metallic Flake" blue, both kits made in the mid to late 80's.
The "Metal Glow" plastic was somewhat transparent and brittle and the production of these metallic plastic kits didn't last very long.

Late in the "Monogram era" most of the kits made were white and I don't think any NASCAR kits were molded in color under the "Revell/Monogram" and "Revell" lable, as far as I know all were white.

I know that the 1970 Plymouth Superbird was molded in green on a later release?

As I said, not sure it was molded in green, I'll try digging up some parts, maybe the identification will be easier. I know I've got at least 3 of the rims and tires left.

Well the wheels and tires are pretty much generic for all the NASCAR kits as are the chassis...so it might not help much...but show them to us.

There has been a couple of different wheels in the Monogram/Revell kits, the early Monogram NASCAR kits had nine hole Bassetts (GM cars) and five hole Bassetts (Ford cars) and those were chrome plated, and non plated eight hole Bassett or Aero Wheels (all) on the later Revell/Monogram NASCAR kits, the chassis are "front steer" (GM) or "rear steer" (Ford), that is where the steering box is located, in front or behind the front axle.

AMT also did NASCAR kits for a while but in 1:25th scale, they were even more detailed than the Monogram/Revell kits and most...if not all... were molded in grey plastic..

So, here's what I dug up. It's a wheel, and I know they are similar and sometimes the same.

It's a rim with no spokes, (steelies?) and the backside shows the molded plastic as brown, maybe this car is older than I thought?

There were no steelies in any of the Monogram or Revell NASCAR kits as far as I know and the rim looks like it could come from an 80's issue of the old tool AMT 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air or something like that based on the brownish color of the plastic.

The tire looks like it comes from an AMT NASCAR kit, they have rised Good Year and size markings on one side only, the yellow Good Year marking in the first picture looks to be a decal.

The early Monogram tires on the other hand has raised Good Year Eagle markings and nothing else, and the later Revell/Monogram tires has D5574 markings on one side, otherwise they are smooth as tire decals are supposed to be used.

You don't have anything else do you?
