Rob Hosking
I have a Chevy truck, i want to convert to a GMC, I had heard Modelhaus did a conversion years ago, but contacted them and "that has been out of production for years" No reply on if they still had the mold and wanted to do some one offs. So that being said, where can i find a 1961 to 1965 GMC 4 Headlight grille with the GMC Script, and a GMC molded tailgate? As far as i can tell there was no kit, or diecast ever produced, any help?? Casey
I think The Modelhaus' parts are the only game in town. Shawn Carpenter did a mid-'50s ('56?) GMC conversion for the AMT '55(?) Cameo kit, and Frontier currently does a '56 heavy duty-type cab, but I don't know of any others.
Elliot949
The Modelhaus is to busy with orders to do one offs... Once he stops making a part/ kit the molds are pretty much toast and no way to make any other parts without extensive work to make new molds... your only hope is to find some old parts off of Ebay or maybe Sean Stacey or Casey Littman can shine some light on this... Oh i understand they are busy. I just ordered a 68 Chevelle coversion kit and some missing wheels for a 59 Vette, pretty pumped to get the stuff. I dont know who Sean or Casey are, do they cast resin?
Casey
I dont know who Sean or Casey are, do they cast resin? I don't know much beyond what I posted above, but Sean Stacey is a member here, so maybe try sending him a PM?: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showuser=7830 I have seen a '60-'66 Chevy longbed at the last two swap meets I attended, and I MAY have seen the GMC conversion you're looking for, but not totally sure. I know the longbed was a Modelhaus part and it was in darker brown colored resin. PM me you contact info, please, and if I see it next time and it is what you're looking for, I'll get the vendor's info so you can contact him.
