Car Paint Question of Off

Recommended Posts

I would not use brake fluid anymore

To hard to dispose of afterwards.

the best in my opinion is 91% or higher rubbing alcohol

Also, Castrol Super Clean works great, the purple jug

ANd then there is the classic, Easy Off, the unscented yellow can, not lemon or others.

Always use caution when spraying Easy Off, the fumes are toxic.

I accidentally fudged up painting my model car. The paint came out bumpy. I want to start over, but not sure on how to get that paint off the plastic without messing it up. Any ideas?

Hi I dont even use chemicals if the chrome is still glued on.I put in s plastice tub with hot soapy water and let sit fo 24 hours or so

and use my nails to scrap off. Also if no chrome is Not ON IT USE Purple CLEAN WILL DO a Great job.

You can also go to WalMart and purchase some Dawn Power Dissolver, this thing works great. I believe is about 2 dollars a bottle. Just dump the body in the dissolver and start out fresh with your paintjob!!!

This thing is so good that the paint just melted off the body, you can actually still see the shape of the car, it was a 1960 Starliner body that I messed up and started over!!! B)

Hi Big Panda!.....i use super clean degreaser straight with out mixing or deluding, make sure you wear disposeable rubber exam type gloves....its hard on your hands. it takes almost any paint off for me. after cleaning i wash with soapy warm water to remove any residue that may be left.be careful around the wing window posts with the tooth brush.....mark
