MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Break out of the rut you’re in.
  2. Raw meat might not be the best for you.
  3. Paying for dinner was a little pricey tonight.
  4. Trains, planes, or automobiles, which method do you choose?
  5. For Pete sake, clean up that cat poo!
  6. Cool! One of the guys on my crew used to own a metrology business. Very smart guy. Probably the best programmer I ever met. I don’t get nearly enough time on the cmm anymore. I supervise the lab now and that takes up the majority of my day. But I used to program full time.
  7. Love those old Hondas. My very first real transportation was a 450 Nighthawk I got new in ‘85. Still have it to this day and still looks great.
  8. You guys are having way too much fun here. So I had to get in on this. I have an anycubic photon m5s pro being delivered tomorrow! I can't wait to start the learning process. Hey Bob, I've been a CMM programmer since the mid 90's. Good to meet another metrologist out in the wild.
  9. Quick update. Not much work has been getting done, due to some other hobbies intruding into my modeling time. But today I worked on the top a bit more. Trimming, filing, sanding, etc… Still want to scribe a few of the short strips. I did mess one step up. After going back and rereading Steve G’s instructions, I realized I shouldn’t have put strips on the top. Just got ahead of myself. My bad. I think I can make it work out okay this time. Lesson learned, and for the next one, I’ll go with paint for the seam lines. It should be more in scale that way.
  10. Thanks David! Appreciate your comments! Actually, that’s the first time I ever shot lacquer through the airbrush, so I can’t comment too much. I can say both sprayed really well. The enamel seems to cover faster, whereas this lacquer went on in very thin coats and needed more of them to get good coverage. Between these two tests, my opinion, I think the lacquer looks better. But really, I’m a complete novice with lacquer.
  11. Again and again the game goes round in circles.
