I just finished the molds for this one! I have them on Ebay or you can contact me by PM. It fits on the Tamiya New Beetle and has had the front and rear ends smoothed out for a more custom look.

Harry, yeah I do rememberthem lil bugs like that,NEVER saw one, but I have seen pics of them. Were they ever imported here? They sure do look neat! I was just wondrin IF VW had one over in Europe that we weren,t gettin over here! That would be a COOL idea! A Volksie sport job! How cool would that be?, all Turbo'd an slammed?!!

Hebmüllers were never sold by VW here in the US, although a handful are here nowadays; any you see here are/were 'gray market' cars. Hebs were sold and serviced through the domestic(Germany) dealer network.


Another reason you rarely see them is because the Hebmüller Coachwerken factory burned in the summer of 1949. Including the prototypes and the post-fire models assembled by Karmann, they still numbered less than 700 cars. The most recent accounting had the worldwide Heb population at just about 100.

Hebmüller was the family name; their coachbuilding firm was established in the late 1800's.

Thanks Again,Steve. The lil red one in the pic, actually looks like it has a front cowl and hood for the"trunklid". How cool is that? Wow, that's like simple german engineering at it best! I STILL think that's a GREAT lookin lil car!

Thanks for comments, guys. I consider it successful if you thought it looked like it was from the factory. It was a fun one to do. I also have a New Beetle Split Window in the works.

That would be cool. I'm amazed that more vintage Beetles haven't been done in resin (sad that Scale Kraft is gone...he did the most vintage Beetle stuff). Especially ones like this:

I love these little cars, my sister sparked my interest in them when her first 2 cars were beetles and now My father-in-law has a back yard full of them. I am just waiting on when he will let get at the vendetta bug that he has

Bob and Dave, I am seriously considering doing more vintage beetle and bus stuff. People like them, I like them, what's not to like about them. I like the Heb Hi-Boy. Very, very cool!
