Sounds like it's coming out in '10 sometime..haven't seen a specific month. I figure I'm good for 3 of 'em, one stock, one stock w/ Cragars or other period mags, and one as a basis for the MCW Biscayne conversion. I have the AMT '66 ht and conv and Modelhaus Caprice also, so that will make a nice little group in the display case eventually.

Yeah, since I have the AMT convertible, I won't hack one up...will wait for Revell to do one... it would be sweet if one of the resin casters did a Caprice or Impala 4dr ht. I have the resin Caprice coupe and Biscayne, I think R&R makes a wagon also.

If I want to build the 65 or 66 (when released) as a bel-air or a 4 door, what roof can I bash in?

No news but here's some photos of the built up that was at I-Hobby Expo last fall. I say It looks pretty darn good to me.

I'm sure I'll be buying at least one. Hopefully we'll get a full review from Bill and Len before it's released.

Steve, is it just me, or do those wheel flares look just a little heavy and crude?

Huh...the Impala shown is a presumably a test shot, which was probably build in October of last year...a lot can happen before it gets released.

Yeah, but those fender flares were a problem on the '65 Impala, too - looks like they carry right over, in fact.

Meh. I still want one.

I'm of the "if it's right enough I'm okay with it" school of thought. Sure looks like a '66 Imp to me!

Sigh............As I mentioned in a previous post, the roofline still doesn't look correct to me. :P

Sorry, but rooflines to me carry the "signature" of a particular car. If they're not right, it makes the entire car off to my eyes. Test shot or no, I'll bet ya this doesn't change with the release of the kit. ;) I've never owned a '66 (or any '65-'66 GM B-body hardtop) but having seen sooooo many of these as a kid in the '60's and as a teen in the '70's-------I can spot the subtle things wrong with the roofline shape in a minute!

nice kit...big block 4spd..all white plastic..stock only..decals for whitewalls, emblems, dash etc..body looks very nice, mold lines very slight.. tires look tiny (mine had two short shots out of the 4) looks much like the 65's in part count etc..has AC details..
