My LHS had one for me on Monday.
Nice kit.
If I didn't have other projects going, I'd start it today. :P

I find it interesting the kit is labelled as a "'66 Chevy SS396 Hardtop", while the description on Revell's 'site mentions Impala. I'm no '60s Chevy buff, but was it possible this same bodystle could be had in the Biscayne line, too?

It reminds me of Revell's '65 Chevelle SS 396 Z-16 from the pics posted on the layitlow forum. I'm sure this kit'll make a lot of people happy, and give others something to Posted Image

The Bel Air and Biscayne were not available with the fastback roofline. The lower line models used a more "formal" roofline that was similar on the 2 door and 4 door versions.

i believe the impala models were the only ones with no post.... all others were biscayne or bel air with post....

the chassis parts look identical to the 65 impala kit in the pics.....

Now those would be cool to see kitted.

'62 was the last year for the Bel Air 2-door hardtop, it didn't sell all that well and dealers wanted more tall-dollar cars. Odd since the Bel-Air bubbletop is now the darling of collectors and modellers everywhere.

The '66 Impala looks like a great kit. I'd like to see a Caprice hardtop as a resin offering.

Interesting...I just noticed the box top doesn't mention that it's an Impala. Odd. I didn't even notice that on the one I bought last week.

Thanks for the pics! I remember when I saw this car sitting on the showroom floor at the local Berger Chevrolet dealer in '66; had just started to drive. Man, that car was a REAL looker in its day!

Or, it might be where the lowrider wheels were deleted from the '65 version.

Maybe, though they usually have the lowrider wheels (and the larger California Wheels) on separate chrome trees.

I've got ideas for at least 3...probably one box stock, one with either TTs or Cragars or the 5-spoke hubcaps from the '65 Chevelle (those look good on '65-66 Impalas, IMHO), and a Biscayne 2dr sedan using the MCW resin kit.
