Jairus-

Didn't you do a drawing of a monocolor green 64 Galaxie with a 427 sans hood?

Never illustrated the front. Your guess is as good as mine I suppose. If I had to work one up it would be sort of like a Saberjet :D

Jairus-

That's the photo of the Fairlane (Sorry) I was thinking about. I've got it mocked up on those wheels ready to be started once I finish my 70 1/2 Camaro convertible (in primer, to be painted this week)and possibly my 60 Starliner drag car with 427. I'm starting to see a theme to my builds. I'll have to call them the "Watson Collection".

What color is the Fairlane supposed to be? I am having trouble finding a similar color.

Jason, I kind of felt it was a slight bit brighter than "Seafoam Green" which is a '50s color and not an available enamel paint color. Closest thing to whats available might be Model Master 50's Aqua #2942.

Jairus-

Here is a few shots of the 70 1/2 Camaro Convertible that you drew up a while ago. I just pulled the masking off from painting the stripes. It isn't exactly like the drawing but it was your idea that gave me the inspiration. Hopefully I'll have it finished soon. I want to enter it in a local contest April 17th.

I hope you like it. Next is to paint and install the visors and final assembly and polish.

Great work on that Camaro Tom. I think I like the look of the Maroon stripes better than the black!
This is how I submitted the piece to SAE. They had run a similar sketchpad a year earlier with a Faux Pontiac ad (Or was that in MCM?) but editor Kirk Bell would only allow the Camaro convt alone and definitely would not allow the Chevrolet logo. So... that is how it ran in SAE.
When I told Gregg he just snorted. This image is rarely seen...

Wow! Always love the Sketchpad art, Jairus! Fantastic! The '70 Camaro convertible ad is great. Any other Phantom advertisements like that? Keep up the great work, and thank you for sharing here!

OK Jairus-

I have a question on another one I've started. Years ago I saw a drawing of a 61 Bel Air wagon done as a driver's rear 3/4 view. The artist had used an additional bubble top to extend the roof. Was that also your drawing?
I began building one of it but using the 62 Bel Air. It has the bodywork completed and that's as far as I got.

No more Phantom ad's that I know of. But that is a good idea for a future SketchPad huh?

Yeah that was mine. Printed in one of the last issues of Plastic Fanatic I believe. I searched my computer for an hour and could not find the image. If I run across it I will post. Got to be somewhere.....

I thought that it must be one of yours. It looked like it from what I can remember. So, that makes 5?, I think. They are:
70 1/2 Camaro
62 Bel Air Wagon
65/97 Mustang
64 Fairlane
60 Starliner Drag Car
I'd also like to do your 06 Mustang Revell Drag car and your 62 T-Bird (futuristic silver car with glass top.)
Here are a few photos of the builds so far. You've already seen the Camaro
62 Bel Air Wagon

65/97 Mustang
