I just checked his site Cruz, and I see none...............yet!

Thanks Bill, I guess he will be putting one out soon, looks to me that it will be a great seller. Are you getting one? You know me, I always ask you if the kit is correct, is it? What do you think? At least by what you are hearing on this thread? ;)

Yeah, I'll probably get one, if not to build right away------but certainly to grok it.

The car looks great from what I see, but there are a couple nits I have. One being there's no up-top though I can make one using a '70 Monte Carlo roof. Another is the rear fenders at the edges, don't seem "finny" enough in relation to the deck lid. Not something everyone would notice or worry about, but that's my "obsessive" mode kicking in.

The Classic Plastic club (from New England, not Calif.) is doing a "P.O.P." catagory for next year; Plymouth, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac, the Orphan Cars. I'll bet there will be several of the '72 Cutlass B)

Does this sound like something any of you would try for?

Since our last posting there have been several points brought up for discussion that we felt need to be addressed before we go further. Lets clear these up now.

Note - this is being posted to both the Spotlight Hobbies and Model Cars Boards so you may find a reference to one or the other that hopefully won't confuse everyone.

1 - There are no pace car decals in the kit. Although I’m not sure they were ever mentioned in any of the announcements about this kit it is possible they were originally discussed but dropped due to licensing issues. We’ll have to rely on the aftermarket industry for these unless a later version includes the pace car option.

2 - The tires are the generic pieces with no sidewall, again because of licensing issues. Aftermarket tires and/or lettering transfers will have to fill this gap for now.

3 - The grilles have been a point of discussion. As was pointed out by Bart Orlans on the Spotlight Discussion Board the Hurst cars were based on the Cutlass Supreme, not the 442, so the kit grilles are correct for the Hurst Olds and Cutlass Supreme versions. Below are pictures of the different grilles:

1972 Cutlass 442
The kit accurately represents the first two grilles. If you want to build an accurate 442 we’ll have to depend on photoetch parts or wait for another version of the kit to be released.

good information to know B) that makes it more likely to have a cutlass supreme version rather than the cutlass.... i like the roof on the supreme much better B)

Has anyone found the new Revell 442 in the San Diego area yet. I have been to 6 hobby shops and not yet (?? when it will be in per the shop managers). Has it arrived anywhere else in SoCal? Thanks.

WOW, just looks like a really great overall kit. I with all of you guys too, I want a few. I have always liked that body style Cutlass. Hope someone comes out with a hard top conversion, fastback or coupe would be fine with me. ;)

Yes, Revell released two versions of this kit, so it depends upon what you plan to do with the kit. Personally, I think the optional wheels in the purple and black version make that kit "better", but opinions will vary.
