Has anybody purchased any of the reissue MPC Zingers yet? I remember my father having the Vette but don't recall the others. I am interested in the Dodges though.

YEP!!! Got them at the Detroit Autorama from Round 2. They were selling them there before the rest of the country. Very fun cool nostalgia kits. They come molded in white now, but are going to be done in Metal-psychadelic-flake. If you never had them, they are fun to build!!!

I heard it is delayed. But it will be released. From a somewhat reliable source. :D

The bodies are 1/43 scale, the engines 1/20 scale.

1/20? That could be good for me. Are the wheels 1/20 also? Anyone have photos of opens kits?

I have a box of old Hubley diecast kits that I'm going to customize.

Were the Super Zingers ever issued? Can't say I've seen either of these, but remember having a kit that MPC called the "CB Freak." It was similar to the "Fired Up" kit shown but had a trucker talking on a CB sticking out of the cab instead of the engine. Would guess it was from the late 1970s.

I never paid much attention to these, but I'm pretty certain the Super Zingers were issued.  Someone I know who does collect these things once told me that the figure in the CB Freak was modified from the Stroker McGurk figure in one of the early MPC kits...

I looked at an Opened "Fired Up" Dodge A100 Pickup. It was Molded in yellow. Even

the "Flashers" (Rotators) were yellow, not clear yellow or clear red.

That is why I did no0t get one then.

(Or maybe I never saw a Sealed one!)

I picked up a built Fired Up Super Zinger in December, and have held the CB Freak kit in my hands, so yes, they were released.

That's interesting. I was looking at pics of the Carl Casper Phone Booth kit and found pics of the (earlier?) version with the Stroker McGurk figure included.

I think the Casper Phone Booth kit came after the Stroker Tall T kit. Haven't had them, but assume they are related. MPC had several Stroker McGurk kits in the early days of the company. I have parts from two or three of the Ghost of the Red Baron kits....a hot rodded Fokker Tri-Plane turned into a Bonneville racer.

Didn't know about the Super Zingers. It's amazing how much stuff MPC did in a relatively short period of time.
