Looks like a Suzuki x-90 from the side.it is a custom body on a jeep chassis.

Thank you, Randy.
I guess it looks more interesting on the outside than the inside now. ![]()

I think they did a fire Chief version of this one too.

Same time period and also a SnapFit kit, but I think you may be thinking of the Toyota pickup?:

The Toyota pickup uses the same tires as the ORV, as does the Jeep CJ-5 kit, which is also in this same SnapFit series:

This vehicle does have an interesting design. It looks like maybe an old AMC development piece. I wouldn't be surprised if someone pops up a photo of a real one. I had good shots of this model up on wheels already in my Fotki so I thought I'd share them.

Yes, this kit is very toy like with plastic car like detailing on the body. Still it was enough of an interesting design that I wanted to add it to my collection of small 4x4s. Wheels and tires are okay.

I don't like the rear treatment at all. What vehicle would be closed in the back of the cab? The spare tire is meant to stick up through the hole.

Chassis is actually very nicely detailed for a curbsider. I don't know if it was cribbed from another kit or done just for this one. I bit of paint detailing is all it needs. The Jeepster chassis will fit in here, but will need to be shortened slightly. I'd declare the kit chassis 'good enough' if it wasn't for the bad under hood detail.

Interior is toy like. Note that there are no inner door panels or detail behind the front seats. I have been working to fit the Jeepster interior into it.

Toy like detail of a generic engine. Either glue the hood shut or carve it all outta there!

Here's how I chose to remedy the rear treatment (closed back) on this body. I added a window with the sides of it parallel to the spare tire opening. I do have two bodies, so I plan on cutting the entire back bed cover thing out of that one to see which works best on my build. I'd lay the spare tire down in the bed on that one.
I haven't touched this one in years. It's funny that the kit has come up on a couple of boards as of late. I had never seen the kit until I found the first one at a show maybe ten years ago. Then I found a second one a few years later. They were super cheap!
If anyone has a parts kit or junker on this one, I do need a rear axle assembly. One of mine is broken and missing half of it.

I think I just threw up into my mouth a bit...I'm digging the fire chief truck though, that was a new one on me

I wonder if the Jeep and ORV share the same chassis, wheels, and tires, and AMT simply created a new everything else above?
