Thank you everyone! This one sat on my bench since the end of April and I picked away at it whenever I could. I took my time, tried a couple of new things, and here is the end result, one of my best builds!

Michelle, is this the car you are referring to?

This is the same photo that was on the 2008 Mopar calendar that my friend had sent me. I just had to build that car!

yep it sure is! I have the same calendar lol. It's also been used in numerous Mopar books and magazines, as well as even on "Classic Mopar Muscle" stickers that somebody made and was selling on eBay a few years ago.

Michelle, that is perhaps the only known picture of that Hemi Charger SE. I wonder where that car is today, if it still exists? I guess I'll never know.

Thanks Bruno and auroramike!

Mike, I did not have a WIP build on this Charger on this forum. The one you found was for my '69 Charger Daytona. And there is no luggage rack on the 1:1 so there none on my model. I used the Revell '69 Charger R/T kit for this build.

Nice, and clear job. Good color choice. I hear the sound of the V8.

just read the current issue of Mopar Action magazine, on one of the pages near the front, there was a tiny picture of this car that caught my eye. Apparently, Shafi Keisler, from Keisler Engineering (THE Keisler Engineering) owns what he believes to be the REAL Preproduction '69 Hemi Charger SE that was shown in that calendar, and is the subject of your build! He is currently restoring it, and SPEED TV's show "Chop Cut Rebuild" filmed at Keisler's company back in May to do a cover on the "KEISLER XP HEMI CHARGER", well at least that's what they call it. I sent a message to Shafi himself on Facebook to see if he can shed a little more light on the car for you! :)

Thanks Michelle! I appreciate it! It would be great to know more about this car as I did take a few liberties with the build. It is difficult to figure out what a car has for options and features when the only resource is a picture from a calendar from 2 years ago. I look forward to hearing more!

Thanks Nick!

Yesterday afternoon, I went out and purchased the current issue of Mopar Action and found the Keisler ad on page 9. I just might send an email to Shafi Keisler (through Facebook), introduce myself and tell him about my project and show him a picture of the completed Charger model.

he hasn't gotten back to my message yet, not sure if he will to be honest. I figure maybe he doesn't want to be bothered, but it would be really neat if he at least showed a little interest in it lol.

Re: your preproduction Hemi '69 Charger SE

Hi Michelle,
I don't have much information I can disclose yet because the restoration of the car is being covered by both CCR (Chop Cut Rebuild) and Mopar Enthusiast magazine. However, for more pics of the car from the Dodge Press days, please visit the 1969 Charger Registry online and look for these images in the press section.
The features will begin to flow in just a few weeks on Mopar Enthusiast. Look them up on the net, and subscribe to their free digital edition so you can get the scoop. Also, subscribe to my newsletter so you can get my inside info on the project.
Thanks for your interest!
Shafi

How cool is that? LOL Here are the pictures from the 1969 Dodge Charger Registry (some pics are pretty big! Make sure to click on them for full size!):

Here is a link to Mopar Enthusiast's small write up on the car, pretty interesting! (click on the little arrows next to the magazine, and it will go to the next page. Should be page 13, also shows a blue PT Cruiser. There's a bar at the top where you can zoom in too ;))

Michelle, thanks for the links and the info! I think I will send Shafi an email and tell him of the model I built and forward a couple of pictures.

wow they did a great job restoring the Charger, I love it! That is one ultra rare Mopar and it's great that it was saved and not crushed years ago!
