I do have a question as far as 1:1 demo derby cars. Don't most rules require a large brace across the interior from door to door in front of the driver?

These are all great looking builds ... sure looks like a blast building one. The homebrewed touch on them all is awesome!

I have never heard of that rule or seen it on any demo derby cars in my area. But demo derbies across the country use different rules and allow for different setups for driver safety.
One thing I noticed on all the builds here is that nobody is making "wreck sticks" on their cars. "Wreck sticks" are brightly paint yard sticks that are attached to the A-pillar on the outside of the drivers side and when the car is to damaged to continue the driver breaks off the stick meaning that car is out of the race. I have seen that at most derbies but not everywhere. Also I have seen at a lot of places drivers having little red flags they can put outside the windshield or drivers door if they are injured and need help before the end of the heat. Another thing I have seen is having to cut triangular slits in the hood so in the case of a fire a marshal can stick the nozzle of the fire extinguisher into the engine bay instead of having to shoot from under the car. It all just depends on where you are.

its differnet from place to place but if its stock no welds or nothing you are allowed 1 bar behind the seat but most places allow a four point cageThese are all great looking builds ... sure looks like a blast building one. The homebrewed touch on them all is awesome!

I am going to change my build to the Rev 66 Chevelle S/W instead of using a sweet little 62 Impala. Thanks,

Don't panic, I've got a long way to go yet.![]()
Question for YJIslander(Jordan): Will the taped on I-beam over the drivers door fall into reinforcing the drivers door OK?![]()
The sharp edge corners are cut off.

I scratch built the headers , the cage and a few of the other small parts. I like how it turned out. It is my first finished build of the year.
