I'm following this build with great interest as I'm planning to build one myself in the future.

One thing tho' the name of the driver (handle: "Love Machine"/"Pig Pen") of the Paulie Hauling Mack Cruiseliner in the movie is apperantly Bobby and not Paulie.

That's the name Martin "Rubber Duck" Penwald says when he wants Melissa to help "Pig Pen" in the meeting with the New Mexico Governor Jerry Haskins when he himself is leaving to get "Spider Mike" in Alvarez TX.

Burt Young who played "Pig Pen" has played a caracter named Paulie in the Rocky movie from 1976, and some says that the Paulie Hauling name comes from that and it could possibly be so as the Rocky movie predates the Convoy movie wich are from 1978...but I don't know.

Hi dear colleagues.
I'm gonna write an article to TMW about Love Machine and there is little probleme:
can anyone tell me, who have rights for these pictures?:
4_zpse85fc972.jpg
7_1_zpsb8de9a28.jpg
3_zpsb58d4466.jpg
Whose authorization should I ask, if I want to use them in article?

Those pictures are screen captures from the movie so the original owner of the rights should be MGM as in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

MGM Studios Inc.

245 N Beverly Dr

Beverly Hills, CA 90210

USA

Phone: (310) 440-3000

I'm looking forward to more updates on this build.

Thank you Force. I have written to MGM, but haven't got any answer. I guess they don't object me to use movie trucks photo in my article.
Thanks to every one!
I'm sorry, but I must move my photos of the board for a while. They will back in couple months after article issue. If you need them sooner please PM me.

Hello fellows!
Long time...
Sorry, I have finished this project some months before, but forgotten to upload it here.
Side moldings were made by using Evergreen's halfround rods:
183_zps31a20a38.jpg
Like that:
185_zpsb5a16c5b.jpg
Added strip back side
186_zpsf8acf6a1.jpg
Little closer:
187_zpsb629fd8d.jpg
The vagon glued together:

In front:
193_zps3976a44e.jpg
Roll door replaced to the left and glued a piece of sheet styrene (something like a van door) on the right:

The chassis was made almost out of the box. Just altered under roll bar and cut frame rails (marked)
194_zpsca281267.jpg
Added winch crane, rolls and vent doors handles (marked):
197_zpse7707eb5.jpg
winch crane turned up
198_zpsb524ed6a.jpg
After white primer I sprayed the van with black. Dust, soot and time:
199_zps83d5cc45.jpg
Inside - too
200_zpsec591c69.jpg
The first rusting was bad
216_zpse0a533af.jpg
So I decided to apply transparent layer first....
217_zpsc713dabf.jpg
then more solid layer....
220_zps927f6757.jpg
...wiped with cotton swab and dissolver later.
Anyway it turned out too much. I should improve my skills in weathering next time

Laths of jalousie are glued on adhesive rubber tape and sprayed by Testor’s “wood” color. When it dries laths were treated with white mate & grey mate by dry brush. So we got weather-stained effect
218_zps246c4354.jpg
I was have to anneal KFS mesh over the flame (gas-stove) because it broke along the perforation while bending:
225_zps765b5749.jpg
Added aerials and susie holder (marked)
227_zpsedd2db8f.jpg
As I painted Alclad just on brass parts it was wiped off some places during manipulations. So I spray it localy.

By hte way, figure was treated with PVA and tissue paper
234_zps417ed8a9.jpg
I made over Paulie's trousers and shirt this way.
235_zpsd3a83739.jpg
Before that hands and fingers were cut...
231_zps50599a90.jpg
...and reshaped with epoxy
232_zpsaab0403c.jpg
233_zps49ea315e.jpg
Note that tissue paper should be all soaked in PVA or you will get this effect after priming
237_zpsfeebc936.jpg
Altering face was the hardest work (take a look at starting face - previous page)
238_zpsa455d356.jpg
painting and fitting...
240_zps0d28de22.jpg
masking
241_zpsa32ef183.jpg

And here it is
