Since the forum was down I had to do something.
So I surfed the net and found dajiban
Japanese craze of RoadRacing full size Dodge vans.


So I will be using the AMT reissue of the 911 van

and now the start of it.
I Redid the inner wheelwells so I could get the van Lower and use wider tires.

Better pics when PC and Dig Camera learn to work together. Ugh..

HHHmmmmm!!! Interesting concept, I have a couple of short wheelbased Chevy van's that looks like a KOOL way to go with one of them, plus I could put it on the trailer right behind the other...

That sounds like a Great Idea too. A tow rig.
The funny think I have read about this style is the gut the interior and Haul their
supplies around with them to the track.
Gotta love the Japanese way of thinking, Race Van and Hauler all in one.

Trying to get some better pics.
Hardest part for me is figuring how to lower the front suspension being it's just a block
of plastic.

After looking up some of these vans they look rather straight forward, with some interior and chassis mods it looks really buildable...

I liked to have hoped soo but the stock version sits soo Tall
I've been rebuilding the suspension (front and rear)to get it in the weeds.
Whoops, maybe too low but Low is good for racing. Right?
Got the wheel wells rebuilt to fit the tires better.
I'll get up-date pics soon.

I know all to well about the backburner... I am really interested to see what is going on with this one and possibly borrow some of your suspension mods to try on one of my Chevy's...

Well looking for Dajiban Vans, they all shown Late 90s Dodge Vans but it doesn't mean there
isn't a Chevy.

Lowered,
I cut the front cross member off where it hung below the frame for more clearance.
Notched out the front spring mount postition to below the frame and will do the same to the rear.
I still have to C-notch the rear frame.


Stock interior tub with Lil Wheelwells. Camera did not want to Focus at all.


Modified wheelwells and removed Engine cover.

As it sits now (front axle on top of the frame)
BTW: it is sitting on Fujimi 17" Watanabe wheels


How much was it lowered? A lot my guess.

What a Differance between old and new Plastic. I like the old Plastic better but not using that one. Yet.
Yes, I do have two Dodge vans but Only two. DANG!!

Rodney, just a thought, but what about reducing that wind resistance footprint with a chop top, or channel the middle. Its already lowered, make the top lower too.
