Thanks Tyler. This kit builds up pretty nicely. I'm just taking things over the top as usual! :)

Hang in there! Finishing up an old, stalled project is a noble cause.

I know. I have many.

You may be inspiration for many of us!

Are you going to put in a dimmer switch? Looking good so far.

I've decided to go a different color with this. I noticed that the red plastic bled through in a couple of small spots. It would probably never be noticed but it would drive me crazy knowing that it's there. I've also heard horror stories about red plastic bleeding through years later even. I decided that the devil known as red plastic wins this time. The truck is going to be painted bright red. Everything is headed to the brake fluid tank today.

Sorry to read that man !
I've never heard anything about red plastic bleeding through but I'm very scared as you know I've build a 40 pickup a few month later.
Mine was bright orange and I hope their won"t be any bleeding in the future :(

keep up the good work anyway !

The orange should be close enough to the red plastic that you shouldn't notice it bleed through. The lighter colors are the ones you have to worry about.

The '40 is off to a great start. Some very fine work. Glad to see you dug out an old rescued project. I like the others, have a few of these on the shelf as well.

Any progress on this Mr Pugh? If not, I understand. I have 20-some kits started.

Of my original list of kits that I had to complete (before starting any new ones), I'm getting super close on the '58 Thunderbird and the '53 Vette is going at a fairly decent pace so I've been giving the majority of my attention to those two. On the '40 pickup, I did pull out all the pieces you see above (that were painted yellow) the other day and finished cleaning off all of the old dead yellow paint. They are now ready for another round of primer and to get covered by a nice glossy Red. B)  It's definitely one that will be seeing much more bench time here in the near future.

Stay tuned.....
