whale392
Walt, you shouldn't even have to ask. It is our duty as older modelers to help those along who need such help and advice. Without passing down wisdom, the hobby will be less friendly and a lot less worthwhile. Guess I'll say YES!

walt francis
Here is the glass I am going to clean up it's out of the AMT 65 Galaxie Here is most of all that I will be using to do this and maybe I will learn something through this and maybe some of you will to, so if you want to help or ask questions feel free to pipe in . All different grits what I am going to try here is show that it can be done with what we would have around and not be afraid of trying it and I will be using tooth paste to polish it out giggle This is where i am at starting with a coarser grit and working down to wet sanding it. walt francis
Well this is where I am at after just a little while polishing it out with the tooth paste and water, took me a bout 15 min. and Think it is really cleaning up pretty nice. This is what I started with Next will be the big tranformation
walt francis
Just enough future to dip it in When you pull it out lay it on newspaper or paper towel so that it wicks off the extra future let it dry a couple minuites then place it on a clean spot so it doesn't stick to the paper And there we have it clear glass again and for my first time I am pretty inpressed myself and it's nothing to be intimidated with. And as always any question on how I did something just ask. cheers
crazyjim
Looks great, Walt. Thanks for the tutorial. Question though - after sanding, could Novus #1 or #2 be used instead of toothpaste? Edited March 13, 2011 by crazyjim

MikeMc
Great job Walt!! I will add when you pour the future into the tub GO SLOW so you do not get bubbles...if they stay on the glass you will have to redip and soak, or windex it off and re do.
