There was a resin 1/25 longbed for the '84 GMC floating around on ebay also. Be careful which one you buy. I saw one on a build on one forum that was awful! It was full of deep scratches and gouges. It looked like it had been sanded with 80 grit sandpaper, then cast.

that GMC shortbed fleetside was done as a High Roller kit too, but both are hard to find and expensive when you do. the stepside as well as the monster trucks still seem to be relatively easy to find and still pretty affordable when you do, especially for a kitbashing project. even at that though, it's still going to be a somewhat expensive project just for the kits required to do it.
Yeah,I had the High Roller when I was a kid. It gets very expensive on ebay. For some reason though, you can get the stock version a lot cheaper. I would like to have one of those monster trucks to build a lifted 4X4 longbed. I'm gonna have to try to pick one of those up sometime.
edit: Adam if you get a monster truck,I have a spare set of stepside fenders from a Monogram kit when you need them. That'll save you from having to use the fenders from the kit you have.

BTW, the Monogram Chevy pickup is a '76, '79 has a different grille and hood.

the monster trucks are long beds.
Dave,do you have one of these kits that you could post a photo of the long bed? I'm really interested in buying one of these kits just because it has the long bed,but I want to be sure it has one before I shell out the cash.

What the heck is that engraved right angle line running around the fuel filler door?
Posted 17 March 2011 - 08:53 AM
that engraved line was an effort to make the truck look like the Fall Guy TV truck and it didn't work. the Fall Guy truck was a long bed too, so that wonky engraving just made the short bed look even more weird in it's effort to replicate the 1:1.
Never knew that.

I found this guy through facebok, his name is Ron Andrews and he sells the beds for $7.95 each. They look to be very nice castings and you can also get a crew cab 79 chevy pickup from him that needs a donor kit, the long bed also goes with the crew cab.
Ron runs RMR Resin. I don't see the bed listed on this page, but at least it's available, and I do see the crew you mentioned listed:
