Lots of great eye candy here, please keep it coming!

We need a Penguin vehicle!

I think we need a Crankyfied Batmobile. ;)

I agree!! Come on, Doc...I'm sure you can come up with something that the Penguin would drive! Or some other suitable Bat type vehicle...

The roll bar flashers are a tad underdetailed so I worked this little gem up. After I give my eyes a rest i'll work up three more. :D Then it's back to the frame. Posted Image

Holy yikes- those things are tiny!

1.5 mm diameter. Nearly went blind making it! Rather than try making three more from scratch I believe i'll be making a mold tomorrow. I'm trying to figure out a way to make the lens/stem combo seperate. Then I can just cast those, paint them clear red and slip the chrome crimp bead on them, but of course that would be too easy! I originally tried some lenses for model trains but the smallest ones I could find were 2mm.Sooooo, I remembered when I pressure cast some clear parts that the excess resin that got on the outside of the mold beaded. After scraping the clear beads off onto a piece of paper I used a magnifying glass to find one that matched the inner diameter of the crimp bead. Then turned it flat side up and glued on the plastic rod for the stem and slipped the chrome bead on. Nuttin toit. It's totally going to be a pain to make three more, so since it takes up like zero space, i'm going to mold it with a couple parts i'm molding tomorrow and cast up four of them. Then i'll add the four markers to the beacon lense i'm working on (and any other clear parts) and cast them four at a time.
Then it's just a matter of a little Alclad and some clear red. B)

Nice! That is one way of doing it! (Actually, you came up with two, didn't you?) At least you didn't go completely blind, right?

Need to take pictures, but have the interior just about done on the snap kit. Put some paint on the chassis, wheels and tires on the axles but haven't installed the spinners yet. It is coming along nicely. Should have it finished before I have the time to get to my LHS to pick up the glue kit!

You can see in the last one that Jaycen's lights are going to be much nicer! But I didn't make myself completely blind painting mine!

I left the steering wheel removeable (opened the hole a bit more) so I could remove both Batman and Robin from the car if I wanted to.

I have to thank Jaycen for the reference pictures and "Drake" for being the guinea pig builder for the snap kit. Your insights were most helpful!

OK...I have two done on this CBP... :)

Well met sir! Great job on both vehicles Tony. NO I haven't forgotten about this thread, just had a little life intervene on me. I'll be getting back to work soon now that I have the front suspension worked out.

By the way...The Deluxe Batmobile kit IS CONFIRMED! :D They will be hitting stores in December for the Christmas buying season AND...there's some new tooling in it too!

One letdown though...check the other thread to find out all the particulars. B)

I WIN! I have a long standing tradition of refusing to let an inanimate object beat me in an argument. I've finally gotten the front suspension beaten into submission. It isn't glued down because it needs a couple tweaks and I need to make molds of it but here it is.

I'll shorten those studs later tonight, then it's on to working out the exhaust. B) Posted Image

Hmmmmm.... I spy some late '50's FoMoCo lower control arms. I'd recognize those puppies anywhere. :D

Allrighty, since i'm waiting on some exhaust manifolds to finish up the chassis/engine setup i've decided to get to work correcting the console. This is the one area where the Revell kit has it over the Batmobile kit. This first shot shows the angle the console should be at. The ashtray up front should not be angled downward either and the black arrow shows the transitional roll from the base to the upright.

The Batmobile console needs to be shaped overall like the Futura's.

Temptation. I would actually like to convert a Speed Racer vehicle into something more sinister! LOL.

As long as it's a Batman style vehicle it's welcome here. :)

Is there any deadline? If someone has said it already, I'm sorry but didn't find it... If there's not, I might jump in in some time, with something pretty rarely seen... ;) Needs to get BAT decals from somewhere and stuff like that...

No deadline. This one stays open as long as folks are contributing. PM me and let me know what bat decals you need. I may be able to help. :)
